ICQ Network Error
Since yesterday Evening I am getting a "Network Error" when I am trying to connect to my ICQ Account. I have tried to disable and then reenable it, but it doesnt work. Either does Deleting the account work. Also Reinstalling of the ICQ PlugIn (either its the Pidgin Plugin or the other Plugin) does not work...
Can you please help me? I am really"stranded" without ICQ Thanks Robin |

Same here guys. So sad. Some people still stay on ICQ and thus it is important to keep having this feature on Conversation. Any ideas?

Re: ICQ Network Error
sadly not I am trying with changing ports and server but still same error...
Will it ever be fixed? :( Hope that the developer reacts... |
Re: ICQ Network Error
It looks like that telepathy-haze is using libpurple's client key and that key is now blocked from ICQ servers. After changing it with client key used by pidgin, it's working again.
If you want to test it, you can try my libpurple package: http://www.filesonic.com/file/1218158274 a here is a patch that I applied to source code: http://pastebin.com/E4zheP10 |
Re: ICQ Network Error
Thank you =) I will try it soon :) But why blocks ICQ such keys?
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
hmm... installed deb via XTerminal dpkg - doesnt work :( still cannot login to ICQ
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
i just replaced /opt/maemo/usr/lib/purple-2/liboscar.so.0.0.0 with your version and icq is back up and working!
i noticed a size difference (227 kb orig/184kb yours) do you know where this comes from? |

Could you please also check settings of our ICQ account? In XTerminal enter: mc-tool list to get your account name then: mc-tool show haze/icq/_3xxxxxxxxx0 and post output here. If you don't have mc-tool, please install package libmissioncontrol-utils |

EDIT: If it will be working also for someone else, I will contact our maemo package maintainer to temporary include my fix, till it will be officially fixed in upstream. |
Re: ICQ Network Error
DAMN it works! THANKS =) BIG thanks from me
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
rmoravcik, thanks a lot, now it works :)
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
can anybody pack a patch that is easy to install, please?
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
Doesn't work for me. :(
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
Just download the file and install it via dpkg - i [FILENAME]
Lets say you copy the file to the "root" of your N900 (when its connected via USB) open XTerminal type "cd MyDocs" type "dpkg -i [FILENAME] " that should work |
Re: ICQ Network Error
the install did work, but icq does still throw this network-error
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
nice ;) tried to reboot?
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
yes. several times.
|
Re: ICQ Network Error
okay, now i made i working again:
the is an option called "use client login" in the icq-settings on the n900. some month ago, icq stopped working and i had to disable this option to make it working again. now i reenabled this option again and icq is working even without this patch, posted here. does anyone know what this option is for? |
Re: ICQ Network Error
intresting it worked for me after installing patch an then enable the function...
sorry dont know what it is for... sounds like it uses the client key for loggin in instead of another key? dont know ;D |
Re: ICQ Network Error
now, there seems to be a new error: they updated the ssl-certificate. now icq doesn't connect anymore... :(
|
Re: ICQ Network Error

|
Re: ICQ Network Error

Re: ICQ Network Error
Same settings, but port ist 5190.
I have this behaviour from time to time. Everything is working fine normally. Some times I can not log in, but a few hours later everything is fine again (of course with no changes at all). Any ideas out there? |
