Did you install advanced power monitor? Maybe remove all of these things, probably a bug.. Wait for an update or don't install programs you don't need. |

Re: Apmd
There seems to be an error in :

Re: Apmd
I uninstalled advanced-power in the program manager, performed an update and upgrade in the console and reinstalled advanced-power in the console. Then it worked again.

Re: Apmd
i had the same error a few days ago after some updates
the following worked for me: 1. start xterm 2. login as root (sudo gainroot) 3. apt-get advanced-power-monitor --reinstall 4. wait a few sec 5. ...profit! |

With this new powerkernel my N900's apmd (advanced power monitor) hasn't worked anymore. The battery icon on the status bar is grey, and it says "Starting APMD" all the time in status menu. Quote:
Lots of these in the /var/log/syslog: Quote:

this worked for me. but ever since the latest update, i have not had this issue. but that could also be because i applied the above. |
Re: Apmd
Happened to me here. Simply go to app manager and remove advance power monitor. You should have the default battery indicator left. Wait for an update to fix it.

Re: Apmd
It happens sometimes after a reboot, battery icon is grey and status menu shows "start apmd".
I usually open a xterm, become root user with command "root", and then reinitiate apmonitord: $ root Nokia-N900:~# stop apmonitord apmonitord (stop) running, process 1615 apmonitord (stop) pre-stop, (main) process 1615 apmonitord (stop) stopping, process 1615 apmonitord (stop) killed, process 1615 apmonitord (stop) post-stop, process 2574 apmonitord (stop) waiting Nokia-N900:~# start apmonitord apmonitord (start) waiting apmonitord (start) starting apmonitord (start) pre-start apmonitord (start) spawned, process 2577 apmonitord (start) post-start, (main) process 2577 apmonitord (start) running, process 2577 Nokia-N900:~# and it solves the problem (battery icon is green again). It's a little annoying , but it solves the problem when it happens. Anyway, I'd like to know why it happens and really fix it. |
