blessn900, whats going on? how do i install?
 

hey all,

im trying to give installing blessn900 another go... but i cant find any threads on it, i cant find it in repositories, and i cant install from blessn900.com. did everything get removed? something suspicious going on.

I noticied this after the last time I reflashed. It no longer appears in the Application Manager and can't be installed with apt-get.

As blessn900 has recently been added to Ovi Store, it can't be installed from the Extras repo because Nokia supply a patched version of apt which prevents Ovi Store installs via Application Manager or apt-get (throws the "Handler Silently Failed" error).

To save you the trouble of rebuilding apt without the Nokia patch, MohammadAG has rebuilt it and shared it here:

Install this and you should be able to install blessn900 with apt-get.

Alternatively, you can temporarily disable the Ovi repo and it will appear in the Application Manager.

well dont be so quick to call me lazy... when i said i cant install from the website it means i tried from their site, im assuming those links are the same... :P

mohammads link is dead now, and i still cant find it in app manager after disabling ovi repo... whats going on? does anhyone even have this app? something fishy going on here...

thanks. im not sure if it installed properly, kept getting error but I didnt install the normakl blessn900 deb but normal camera application and blessn900 app crash as soon as theyre opened, maybe because i keep getting an error when trying to install the fcamdrivers... i tried apt get but i guess i didnt do it right... what should i try?

go to ovistore http://link.ovi.mobi/n900ovistore and search for Bless N900 there. you'll need to register to download.

ive seen this message twice now:

telling me to updare my phone... i go to app manager and it says no updates available... when i click ovi store in my phone it takes me to the same web page... why does ovi store think i have an old maemo? maybe from titan power kernel?

Are you sure you don't have a custom user agent? It causes the out of date message.

When I install blessn900 from normal repo, and restart, my normal camera and blessn900 crash as soon as I launch them. so i uninstalled.

When I try to instsall just blessn900 from the second link on this quote it says missing packages (the drivers) and fails to install.
So then I try to install the drivers first and it says incompatible package type.

WTF im gonna lose my mind!!! Ive tried this 3 times already. Can someone help me? Does anyone really have blessn900 working?

i guess my titan power kernel may be the reason for blessn900 failing. i saw a thread yesterday with a ton of pics in it (camera test) and found a link to a special .deb for those with power kernel... can someone please link it to me? it seems the thread disappeared, maybe it was deleted for having so manhy pictures?
