Problem - battery drain

Hey guys.

having a small issue with my phone.

i have some serious battery drain issues.

On idle its lasting aprox 3 hours and on load about 30 minutes!

I have tried 3 new batteries and the problem persists.

i have uninstalled the vast majority of software.

the only thing i can think of is there must be a process or a service thats running in the BG causing this drain.

Conky doesn't show any real abnormal CPU usage.

Is there any way to check and kill BG process's?

Craig

http://wiki.maemo.org/Make_your_battery_last_longer can help. Could be a connection issue, where software is desperately trying to connect to some kind of service. How is the RAM/ active connections?

@CraigRobbo

IMO :

1-) 20% you have a hardware problem
2-) 50% kernel-problem (try to downgrade to version 46)
3-) 30% some thing wrong with your microSD causes N900 to suck the battery
4-) if nothing above was the problem then try to reflash and test
if the problem still on then you do have hardware problem

Thank you!

Not in that order but i will try them.

I have taken out the memory card to see hwo that helps.

Just put the stock kernel back on & reinstalled power kernel.

The RE:flashing might be difficult because i'm on 7 64bit and the flasher just doesnt work on it :(

I have tried an old back up and restored from backupmenu &that made no difference.

if the memory card does not help i fear it maybe a hardware fault.

Battery full, phone off. Is battery empty after 6 hours? If so, hw fault likely.

1 Attachment(s)
I am having an issue where my battery drains overnight. I have attached a battery graph. Note the minimal CPU usage. I also had the phone in airplane mode. Battery almost gone overnight!
I am running kernel47 with ULV voltage overclocked to 700 mhz.

(Note, large CPU usage at 9am is a bug in battery graph, turns into a signgle spike when i scroll battery graph)

I removed "Advanced Power" (and "Advanced Power Monitor" just in case) and battery life is now EPIC. Easily lasted me 24 hours with regular usage, probably could go longer.
