MicroUSB dead, how to reflash
My MicroUSB came out..and the tracks also along with it from my motherboard.. :(
and i was uninstalling NITDroid and well..it screwed my Maemo also. So now, is there anyway possible to reflash this thing or im just out of luck? |

I found out the hard way that you can use BackupMenu when everything else fails but you need have Fresh N900 BackupMenu images beforehand.

Oh, my bad i forgot to tell you that if you don't have BackupMenu alrady installed you need to somehow access the OS to install it first :/

Yea.. :( crap.. and i dont have a friend nearby who can install backup menu and give me the image...! Man..im really screwed i guess.. just a heavy piece of brick.

WOW!..but i need to have backup menu installed right? ! i cant do **** :( ! it wont stay on for 5 secs..it says Error and all and reboots..

You can flash using pins beneath battery (aka serial). In fact, amongst them are USB D+/D- pins, You can use them to do cold reflash. Search, there are few topics here with pictures showing which pins are for what.
CAUTION! D+/D- pins beneath battery are connected *directly* to chip, without any protection circuit (as opposed to normal USB port). It means that You need to proceed with HIGH caution - any static, shortcut and whatsnot will go *directly* to chip. For using as emergency flashing solution, You should be ok - but, for example, using this pins to make do-it-yourself general purpose usb port (as replacement for broken one), isn't great idea, probably. |
