[SOLVED] Another Broken Symlink
so if this infection reaches to the /var/cache/apt folder, is there anything else I can do other than reflashing my N900?
I just bought this phone after I lost my previous N900 about a month ago. so I restored both rootfs and optfs backup and that's how it happened. |
Re: Another Broken Symlink
the problem now, both appManager and FapMan are not working because of this issue..

Re: Another Broken Symlink

Re: Another Broken Symlink

Re: Another Broken Symlink
hey mate :)
the fapMan shows this 1st, http://i.imgur.com/fDeJ0.png http://i.imgur.com/XKT0z.png when I checked the apt file using fileBox this is how it was shown, http://i.imgur.com/7nAWG.png can't open of course. and terminal shows there's no directory with this name cuz it's broken |
Re: Another Broken Symlink
Actually it would be useful if you posted the output of ls -al /var/cache/apt . It would also help if you could tell us which guide you are following that led you to these errors. The default maemo setup does not do this and I am sure you are following some messed up guide to have issues like this thus accusing it as 'infection'.

Yes true, when I flash it, it goes back to normal. when I restore my previous backup using BackupMenu I get this broken link. I can ignore the restore step but I dun wanna start everything from the scratch. |

Thanx a LOT guys, now I don't have to start from the scratch. I feel like it's my previous phone that I lost :) |
Re: [SOLVED] Another Broken Symlink
You might also want to consider making a new backup now with that old one being useless.
|
Re: [SOLVED] Another Broken Symlink
True, so I don't have to go through this again. Thanx mate :)

Re: [SOLVED] Another Broken Symlink
for anyone else having this problem, just download the 2 apt files as suggested by Pusak gaoq. delete the broken apt and create another one and paste the 2 downloaded files in it.
Then download this archive file which also uploaded by Pusak gaoq :) and paste it in the apt file. or after pasting the 2 files in the apt, create file named "archives" in the apt file, and another folder named "partial" in the archives file. then go to the terminal and write the code as suggested by tuxsavvy :) sudo touch /var/cache/apt/archives/lock |
