Anna's icon gallery - Anna's icon maker - make anna style icons fast - plus clock widget theme
 

I was inspired from cloud596's symbian anna icon pack and I thought i should give him a hand. So I made a small script that takes any icon and embeds it in a symbian anna style background with a matching color.

please use only free icons, or icons you don't mind to share because the script collects them

EDIT: Shall I publish the icons? If I do everybody will be able to delete any icon, to prevent copyrighted or otherwise not shareable icons being exposed for long

I am facing a problem now, why after I make and get the PNG icons, then I save the background image just anna and icons that I made did not appear?
How can I change the icons that had already been on the menu N900? Please complete the tutorial. Thx

It's weird. I tried it both on the N900 and a Windows pc with firefox, and when I choose save image as the whole icon is being saved. Please tell me the exacts steps you did.

1. copy image location may or may not work
2. you have to save it as png (browser on the N900 saves it as .php)

i personally realli wanna appreciate your work ..this is an amazing work dude and you are the man .n900 is kinda suit you people ..now the icon making is just a step away .thankx buddy

can i suggest you on something???
as i try making the icon i notice that the templates will try match the same colour as the icon that i have pick....would it be better if we can choose ourself different templates colour so it wont be likes the icon below???

Yes that is a feature that could be there, but i will not have time in the next week or so to implement new features but I will have this in mind. Try adding another colour in the original icon, and things would be better. (e.g make the "tube" red)

i have try all colour but the problem is the templates keep match the icon colour i pick...i have add two colour but still the result will be like this....

If you make "You" and the circle cyan and "tube" red it will work a little better. If not, you'll have to wait for me to make a color picker.

The Anna icons are not really my style, but I love the site you built around it to make it easier for people. Kudos.

nice too. It uses svg which is scalable so better quality. But png's are easier to find.

Anyway if you put the icons in the scalable folder they work even if they are 256x256, correct me if I am wrong.

I made a theme for desktop clock widget to match the icons (it is the same as the original anna clock icon with the difference it shows always the right time)

I made a new anna style chromium icon (not like the one made by the tool) but I don't know where to put it. I replaced chromium-browser.png in 48x48 but I still see the old icon. Anyway the icon is attached

It's still pretty crude but give it a spin.

It is but I don't publish them anywhere. I was thinking maybe I would if there are no objections so that people have more options for their iconpacks.

FIXED! I had just reached my server quota.

Now, there are more than 5000 icons made with this maker, and some of them are really nice. I think of making a gallery with them, where everybody will be free to delete any of them (in case somebody does not want his icon online)

Does this seem fair to you? I do warn that the script keeps the icons.

The biggest user-generated anna style icon gallery is here! 10000 icons (5000x2) and counting. Bring them on. (and please delete the rubbish)

Great work. I just made a bunch of icon's to go over my QBW widgets.

Also found a website which is great for resizing to 96x96 (or any other size) for fixed size images): http://pixlr.com/editor/

Holds onto your transparencies too.

I made an overhaul to the code and the icons now look much more the harmattan ones. Added shadow, highlight on the top of the icon, and inverted gradient. Maybe you'll want to make your icons again :)

It's a theme, you just put the whole folder somewhere, for clock widget to find it, I don't have it installed right now, let me check it and get back to you

you should install desktop clock widget (from repo.)

and in settings of widget - choose the folder with .svg files as theme
