Announcement needed from Maemo.org about it's future.

Can someone let all of us members know what the situation is and will be for the future of Maemo.org please.

I am sure every member needs to know.

Nokia will cease funding by the end of 2012. The rest is speculation.

Members are leaving by the day now and i think it is mainly due to uncertainty and a feeling of abandonment, so if this community is to pick up then we all need some guidence as to the future of TMO.

Can we have at least a statement from Reggie or whoever this may concern?.

How much does it pay to spread FUD these days?

Shouldn't you leave tmo already? The game is already won.

I would really like someone in charge of talk.maemo.org to compile a top 20 list, ordered by the most user accounts logged in from a single IP.

It could be interesting. I bet that we'll find abill, ericsson, and a handful of other familiar user names right at the top. And that one guy that actually were banned at one time.

I have missed out on this. Has Elop/Nokia stated that if they sell 125.000 N9s it will change its strategy, or what?

If he did, I'm sure he will make sure they'll only produce 100,000 of them.

When N9 got announced I was quite impressed. Now as the time progresses I am not convinced to spend that amount of money.

Re: Announcement needed from Maemo.org about it's future.

Elop/Nokia has stated that the sales number of the N9 will not influence on their overall smartphone strategy - one way or another.

And while I disagree with their strategy, I agree with that the strategy should have a foundation stronger than what can be swayed in retrospect by the sales numbers of a phone model that has been in planning for several years already.

I wouldn't bet against that.. but I also get the sense that ignorance comes easy for him, too.
