hey ,

i already download the flasher prog and the frimeware version for my phone and i fully charged my phone and i turned off and i pressed U and i put the usb cable and thats what happen : the phone vibrate nokia show but like when the phone is off i mean its not on and i still press on this letter like 5 min i dint see nothing so what should i do ?????????

You have to run the flasher command from your desktop.

You will then getting amessage like...waiitng for device or non device found.

Then connect the phone to the desktop via usb whilst holding down U.

yes, there could be no backlight in it. but you should see the usb icon i the right upper corner

Right.

Flash the emmc first

Run this command in the flasher

(This assmumes you renamed your emmc file 'EMMC')

When this finishes( 30secs to 5 mins) remove the battery from your mobile.

Then reconnect to pc holiding down the U key.

Then flash the firmware

Run this command in flasher

(This assumes you renamed your firmware file 'FIRMWARE')

When it's finished the phone will reboot and voila you have a newly flashed and operational phone.

This is all in the WIKI as previously pointed out, but the above should summarise what you need to do.

its a typo i think so....it must be.

flasher-3.5.exe -F FIRMWARE.bin -f -R


and remember type as written...as command window is case sensitive.. :)

If you're flashing both, always do the emmc first and do Not allow device to boot until the fiasco image has been flashed.

Roughly speaking:
The eMMC is the main internal storage. You shouldn't need to wipe/reset/flash this unless you sell your device or for whatever other reason find it gets full or somehow (e.g. -devel s/w) corrupted.
i.e. it sets/resets everything in the /home and /opt folders

The FIASCO image sets/resets the rootfs (/root) and I think some of the other top level ones too (Someone please clarify). This is the one to use if you just need to clear out unwanted or faulty s/w, though you may need to go through /home or /opt to remove settings folders from software you've removed by flashing the device.

Tell us, what does the Wiki say? We need to know you've read it and you are following it to the letter so we can see where you've gone wrong and thus how we can correct you.

Also, you need to start using the Thanks button if you want any more help!

ok i will tell u
first i download the flasher prog and i install it after that i download the frimware version the new one after that i run the flasher from the run menu and i give the order to open the flasher and run it after that i turn off my mobile after its complte charging and i pressed U key and i put the usb cable the nokia show with the ccable usb on the corner of the screen so i go the comand pronpt again and i wrote this
flasher-3.5.exe -RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.003_PR_COMBINED_003_ARM(1).bin -f -R

after that its come the letter i told u and for now im still downoald the last vanillia version its takes long time

so thats all what i did

Can you confirm these are the files you have downloaded?

If yes follow my previous post but replace EMMC with RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin

i.e

When you run this do you still get the same error message? if it's sucessful follow the next step to flash the firmware.

Ok I think you're trying to flash 1.1 follow my instructions above, you need to flash version 1.3

Put all the items for flashing in the same folder, with a short directory path so it's easy to read and type, e.g. in your OS (WinXP) make the folder c:\maemo. If it exists, clear it out and unpack everything in there. The (1) in the filename is because you've got duplicate items with the same name.

And yes, as mentioned above - ensure you've got the latest versions of everything i.e. PR 1.3, released in Oct 2010.

If both the .bin files are in the same folder as the flasher tool then, just follow the instructions in the Wiki.The correct commands are in the Wiki - I used it about 3 weeks ago!

Are you sure you are using this flasher?
maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2.exe

Someone before reported the same error because he was using the Harmattan flasher.

Also, be sure that the firmware and emmc images are about 200MB each.

ammyt youre right the frimware version is only 92 mb i think some think happen when i was download it this file so i will redownload it again
the emmc still download it and for the flasher after i finish i will remove every thing and reinstall it form the begin but its already maemo flasher not hartman

my freind i download the emmc and i reflash it its complete but guess what tis file RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.003_PR_COMBINED_003_ARM.bin

i tried to download it 3 times and each time its corrupted is there any other way to get this file without taking that long and complete file do u have any idea

i think ur internet connection is too slow...
and one thing more the window that opens after u enter ur imei number remains alive for 1 hour only and probably u cross that limit and the partially downloaded file does not resume from that point properly and is always left incomplete...

i hope this helps... :)

Use Firefox and install the "Download Them All" plugin.

This will improve download reliability and performance.
