N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Let's get this focussed discussion under-way. As the title says...
This thread is only for discussing where to buy the 16/64GB N9, when, & how much. Not even accessories are to be discussed, as that's what this thread's for. Tis purely about finding the best deals for everyone, wherever you may be. Can one of the mods please sticky this thread? I'lll try PM'ing one later if it's not done by the time I wake. This person's supposedly offering a okay-ish deal on 64GB N9's for those who don't mind buying from the EU http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/frankhvamc...id=p4340.l2559 http://myworld.ebay.com/frankhvamcap...id=p4340.l2559 He/she also seems to have a solid track-record which is important. Thanks to aeoroneous for this find. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I live in the Netherlands and it's not going to be in the shops here. I wonder where the other dutch people are going to get their device from. Wait for Belgium and then make a little trip?
Does anyone know any trusted preferably dutch sites that import it here? |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
But, there is a thread started specifically for the same reason, by me!
Duplicate! |

Haven't seen you do that... We're just trying spin-off topics that need more detail/focus into their own threads. I don't care either way.... If you want to actively maintain the thread you started, fine by me. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I'm under the impression that if you buy the phone from an import shop and it breaks and nokia care refuse to repair it, the import shop (at least the first year, maybe more, depending which one and where) will ship it back where it was imported from, have it repaired, and shipped back to you.
This won't happen with an ebay seller.. If you think this makes sense, please consider it before buying it (even if you want it so badly ;) ) |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
So how long will it take to ship from Denmark to Socal from that guy?

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing

Thanks for the posts peeps, keep em coming!
I'll add it all to the OP soon.... Plus maybe throw in a link to a google docs article So more than on person can be updating from there etc. *update* I contacted the mods sometime ago to arrange a merge. Nothing from them yet... |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I find using the Report Post buttons is the best way to get attention of mods to ask for thread merging, stickying etc.

They only told me about it after I chased them up via email 2hrs ago! But it apparently had come in much earlier... Already they're getting pushy about me coming in to get it now etc. I've secured a tacit agreement on holding it till Monday. But I dont trust them, so I'll probably be in before then. |

Yeah I couldn't believe the nerve, I'd only just been told for freaks sake.
Plus I was the one having to chase them up constantly... anyhoo... Were you able to barter the price down a little, or have the headset removed? I couldn't care less about the headset, I really don't want to be paying for it. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I've registred times ago at nokia.ch and nokia.at to get an email, when it will be available.
Got now finally the answer with the following searching engine for Switzerland http://www.nokia.ch/nokia-partner?ci...B&Idate=111007 Edit: the mail shows the N9 and for availability links to this url. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Thanks for that!

Oh boy, i dont understand why anyone should by N9, when iphone 4 is selling for $600? you are all a bit delusional. And no one has yet to post a full review? blind leading the blind on this forum
|
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I'm sorry to be brash, but I don't need anyone to tell me what not to buy. You don't know my financial status. I can afford it. I have disposable income.

No he's trying to argue the iP4 is vastly superior
Anyway this is off-topic, carry-it-on & I'll report you again BBG. |

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
iphone4 is pretty much bug free. it just works anything you throw at it. N9 is still highly unproven, and given NOKIA record, my skepticism is more than justified. iphone 4S shoud cost more as the engine under the hood kicks N9 tiny a ss.

Sooner or later the mods will come round, & you will be gone. Thank God for that too. You're not interesting, or even entertaining any more. We get that you love iOS, believe it or not many of us use it too. But you always fail at making any interesting/constructive posts. You're merely here to trash this party, so you're not welcome. Ironically if you'd been behaving this way in one of the major Apple forums. You would've been banished many a yore ago. You're a hard-core fanboy, pure & simple. Most folks here are techies 1st, & fanboy's 2nd, if at all. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
In that case, why are you in this thread, or in this site for that matter, lol. I wouldnt use Iphone, too restrictive. Eats up a lot in terms of data rates too with all that connecting(in my country), just to get to Itunes
Please go to the Iphone threads for your Iphone discussion |

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Lol, and still here. So free to troll around other brand threads or jealous cos not being released in your country.:p :p
Quite a number of S2 and Iphone 4 owners in my country ended up buying it after trying. And rather impressed with the UI. Imagine, dual core users liking it. Iphone 4S, nah, too expensive(comparing prices in my country), data rates will kill too |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
many people are so impressed by Swipe UI and like the n9 design! at least in singapore where iphone is number 1

Start your own anti-n9 thread & make your wonderfully compelling arguments there, why the ip4 (let alone 4s) is vastly superior in every facet In short... Get out of this thread asswipe... ;) |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
$822.59 USD shipped internationally from this site. http://www.mobicity.com.au/nokia-n9-64gb.html
Anyone knows a cheaper source please let us all know. Also found a store in NYC that said he could probably get it. I asked him how much and he said to call him back Tuesday. If I can get a group discount of sorts or the price is better than importing I'll start a post and let everyone know. I would gladly organize a group buy if I could. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
More and more I'm thinking about getting an N8 for now. Symbian Belle is intriguing, the camera can be my awesome P&S, and I can have a great multimedia center on the go. Less than 400 on Amazon.
When the N9 drops to a more reasonable price (and hopefully better availability) I'll be all over it. Unless... "N9 is Available now on australia websites. smoothmobiles.com.au mobicity.com.au " It seems like this could be the better deal for any US guys. (credit to @anismistry) With the Aussie dollar being near even with the US, you can take that price almost at face value. Somebody else mentioned the ability for those sites to subtract near 10% (I would guess more like 8%) for the GST since Americans don't have it. Thoughts? |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Minus 10% because Oz has GST, then use a conversion tool, Oz dollar is slightly stronger atm.
This thread is for discussing prices of the N9... To discuss whether you should get the N900 instead of a N9, please start a new thread. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Quote:
To clarify, I HAVE the N900. haha. I was thinking N8 but if the Aussie places can get the N9 for a decent rate, I'd be in. The smoothmobiles site has it for 795 (64GB) so that would be roughly 715 assuming parity (it's close enough in any case.) That's not the worst price I've seen. Not sure what the other .au sites have but I'd almost be willing to pay that and consider it an early adopter fee. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Ah okay gotcha. Just pick your retailer...
Subtract 10%, add shipping, then type "$xxx aud to usd" in google search. And then you'll have your price. There's heaps of engines in Oz, I haven't looked around heavily yet. But this is one of the better price search engines... http://www.getprice.com.au/Nokia-N9-...bile-Phone.htm Best retailer price listed there is $745AUD, not sure if they ship OS though. Remember though if you buy from Oz... You'll want to have a contact who's happy to act as a intermediary between you & Nok Oz. As the service centre's unlikely to be happy to send it back to the US for you. You could always try checking 1st though I suppose. If you arrange a pre-paid return satchel, & they're feeling helpful, they may oblige. Also the retailer might be happy to act as the intermediary. |

@cincibluer6
Don't listen to a thing this guy has to say, he makes up FUD on regular basis as though it's FACT. Or sometimes FACT intertwined with pure FUD, so as to colour it with a little more legitimacy. He has a hidden agenda, no fair/balanced thought bubbles will ever come from his direction... Will update OP soon with all the new facts (where they're relevant/useful) |
