Emumaster Issue

I'm having a really hard time getting emumaster to run a gba rom. I'm seriously in need of a simple tutorial from anybody who has got it running. I have my bios file in gba folder and my gba roms unzipped but the app wont load a rom. Meanwhile Snes roms work just fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, I am elemental (the creator),
Please tell me the exact path of your bios, be aware of letter case.
It should be "emumaster/gba/gba_bios.bin".

Maybe an option to select the bios file manually in the menu would be better option.
So once you selected the bios file, it will copy itself to the specific directory so it will work.

This should be a good way to help out people that doesn't know where to put the bios file :)

Still waiting for the new version of Emumaster :D

I am working hard on Amiga emulation (only save/load support, on-screen mouse/keyboard and couple of things and bugfixes left). I think GB is next. Thank you for donation.

Hi Elemental,

Thank you so much for addressing my problem personally. Yeah, I believe I have done exactly as you've described. I've attached an image to the post that shows also how I've set it up. No clue as to why I missing out on what clearly is a great app. And as I mentioned the lone Snes rom I loaded works absolutely fine.

Check MD5 sum of the bios. For e.g. use http://www.elgorithms.com/downloads/chaosmd5.php. It should be "a860e8c0b6d573d191e4ec7db1b1e4f6".

Hmm, I definitely think it is, but will check!

Yep, that is not the issue, it comes as valid. I mean this "a860e8c0b6d573d191e4ec7db1b1e4f6" comes up in all caps but all the values are present in the when I checked...I'm going to delete and re install the app and see if that helps.

Deleted and re-installed. Did not fix the issue. I give up for now and will try again with a new version I suppose. Thank you for your help though, I really appreciate it!

I had to reboot N9 until Emumaster was able to start gba roms, after trying to start them with wrong bios-file. It stuck somehow and emulator did nothing when I pressed play. After the reboot it was fine, as long as I had the right bios rom on a first go in place. If it wasn't, it stuck again.

(I had three files of which I didn't know the right one at first, and I was replacing them one by one.)

Please select from menu "Run with autoload disabled" for this games.

Re: Emumaster Issue

I have some trouble running these games:

NES:
  • Battlecity
  • Marble Madness
Some screens appear corrupted: only "moving tiles" are visible with all black background. In Battlecity it is player select screen (only selector icon is visible), in Marble Madness it is the very beginning of the first level - only ball is visible. All ROMs are in perfect state ([!]), without hacks. Tried different languages - no positive result.

SNES:
  • Out of this World
Can't start playing the game itself: the only screens accessible is start screen and loading screen. Everything past loading screen is blackness. The only version of Out of this World that run "smoothly" is Beta version. But it's somehow different from release version - lacks cutscenes and some minor functionality. Like with NES, ROM is perfect and tried different languages.

Also, can you please add a functionality to disable/enable autosave and autoload on certain games? Like "run without autoload" but as a permanent flag. So the game can be run in always resetted state like you just inserted a cartridge.

Also, a buttons somewhere outside the games (in options menu in game selection screens) with captions "clear game cashe" (which clears "cartridge" SRAM memory) a "clear saved states" (which clears saves) would be a nice thing.

Battlecity works for me, I will check the others.
I will add the buttons you want, no problem :)

Hey.
Had to register to this forum. So bad is the burn to get to play Ports of call in Amiga.
I get this message:
Error
Could not load kickstart, Applicationi is going to shutdown :(

I have 4 different versions and all of those say same error.
What can I do?

from wiki:
what does this mean?
Quote:

You must copy the bios to the following path: "emumaster/amiga/kick13.rom"
