You coud just use www.torrific.com and download the files from there, just copy the torrent link and paste into torrific, it wont usually take long time for the torrent to finish, its pretty dam fast service, then just download the files to your phone.

there are plenty Open trackers, and most private trackers doesnt allow mobie torrent apps to be used.

ps, if you decide to use this, you need Firefox since the default browser doesnt allow download of avi without some editing of defaults.list and you cant Paste the torrent link into Torrific :mad:

yeah of course it would be easier, atho, this also saves your hd space, and you can also stream the files using default browser, look into it, i bet you will like it ;)

and im not joking about hte speed of torrific, see it yourself, when i click initiate (download torrent) its sometimes ready like ASAP :D

upload speed is around 4mb/s from torrific to petandrive (another file host thats pretty usefull, you can stream videos from there etc.

Thanks for the idea, tried it with lftp and it works but there's a problem, the download speed is pretty slow. I get speeds only up to 80kb/s and it's not the tracker or the wlan speed. I tried to download the same torrent on my computer and the speed went up to 2Mb/s, i also ran speed test on my n9 and it showed about 1.7/Mb/s. Any suggestions?

LFTP's great and powerful....
But it's not going to appeal to the mainstream that we want/hope the N9 will appeal to.*
Hopefully there is a re-adaption of Transmission. That would be really sweet.

*the chances of that happening have been almost entirely dashed, but one can still hope.

Yeah but still, it's nice that if you really need to download a torrent you can do it. I just don't know what's with the download speed.

Hey there's a Torrent app called Meetor that you can find on N9-apps.com or ovi store, it'll cost ya a couple of dollars though.
I haven't tried it so not really sure how good it is but the screen shots on n9-apps.com don't look half bad.

im currently using this, its quite ok but the thing with it, you cant download multiple torrents at the same time, the ui could be much more intuitive though, i hope an update is still to come.

Please look at MeeTor. I have tested it myself and it works great. You can also find in the comments how to apply the correct mime-type to N9 browser.

I'd like to also mention that n9fanclub provides pirated material, so please support the developer and buy the app from Store. The developer is a good guy and has also promised updates to the app.

MeeTor is no longer available from Nokia store. Is there any other way I can get it? I don't mind paying for it.

Yes, transmission remote works great! Used it for lots of torrents without an issue. It uses a lot of resources so it does make the phone a little sluggish every now and then. Plus, remember to select "end local daemon" before you close otherwise it will still run in the background and consume battery/resources.

Torrential doesn't work with all the torrents I tried. It just doesn't download anything.

As some others have mentioned, you could try http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1255042 it has very basic but all the needed functionality to manage a remote/local transmission server.

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried Transmission Remote but when I started the app it asks me for Server, Port, User, Password details. I don't know what it does but all I want is a way to download torrents on my N9 when I am travelling.
