Cannot download apps from the store....
I finally updated my N9 to the new FW but got very disappointed with the battery life afterwards. It was draining like no tomorrow. After doing some reading on the excessive battery drainage from others with similar problem, the solution that may work to solve the issue is to restore the phone. I just did not do the restore but I cleared it to start off fresh. After doing so, the battery issue may have been sold but I cannot download any apps from the store. I get this notice: "Dependency notice...To complete installation, a conflicting application needs to be uninstalled....accept or cancel".......of course I click 'accept' but nothing happens....I've cleared the phone twice already and still getting the same result. Help? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.

We all need to start posting all we can in there, and vote for priority so they can do something about it. |
Re: Cannot download apps from the store....
Don't ever bother with a restore if you've got a flakey system,
That may have complicated things doing that before a full reset. Another user had very similar issues, see how he finally got his working http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=80009&page=5 |
Re: Cannot download apps from the store....
It seems like my battery drainage problem is ok for now after clearing the device but my main concern now is, as I posted above, that I cannot download any app from the store.......any ideas for solution?

Re: Cannot download apps from the store....
There's some other threads in this sub-forum that sound like they have similar issue.
See what they're discussing... I'm not entirely surprised it didn't go away w/a full reset, you still haven't tried a re-flash. |
Re: Cannot download apps from the store....
Try enabling developer-mode. Reboot.
It worked for me. you can turn off the developer-mode later. Quote:

Re: Cannot download apps from the store....
Enabling developer mode actually created a worse battery drain for me. Where I was once recharging almost every other day, with developer mode turned on, I'm barely getting through just one day.

After disabling the developer-mode, my battery drain went back to normal. sometimes i have 2 process that drains my battery: homescreen messageserver killing homescreen (it auto-restart) solves my battery problem... Don't know why, but it works.... Now i have a 20mA on 3g and MfE. 10mA on 2G. |

I've tried this and it's the same, it won't install. I would get "Installation failed; developer-mode --- installation interrupted"..... Folks, I appreciate the responses about the battery drainage but again, that issue seemed to have solved itself after I cleared the device.....my main and only concern now is I STILL CANNOT DOWNLOAD APPS FROM THE STORE......help? |

Re: Cannot download apps from the store....
Well I just upgraded to pr 1.1 and guess what I am getting the same thing. Apps wont install...same thing about needing to uninstall a conflicting object and I click accept but after the download the app wont install. This is seriously annoying. I paid for two apps in a row but I cant install them????
I have never flashed my device or anything. I have never enabled developer mode and dont want to knowing that it didnt help this guy who has the exact same problem I have and also the fact that developer mode drains battery. I have one question though dude whats the last app you installed? |

Re: Cannot download apps from the store....
oh i get it you cant even run flasher. which flasher file did you get I suggest heavily that you get winflasher 3.12.1 and what os are you trying to run it from? Have you already downloaded the image from navifirm? DId you notice that there are quite a few files on navifirm always make sure the bin file with dfl 61 and legacy written on it is downloaded. It should be quite big. put that file in the flasher folder where flasher.exe is. now rename the bin file to something smaller i just renamed it to 686_arm.bin. Now if you are running windows open command prompt...I assume you know how to navigate to any directory using command prompt...then go to the flasher folder where the bin file the flasher.exe file is, now type the command given on the instruction.
"flasher -F FIRMWAREIMAGE.bin -f" Now instead of FIRMWAREIMAGE you type the name of the file you gave the bin file....in my case my command was 'flasher -F 686_arm.bin -f' and you should be good to go...another command prompt window should open up saying waiting at the end/ Turn off your N9 wait like a few seconds and then plug in the device. when that second window closes you are done, unplug it and the phone turns on by itself and voila! Hope this helps and I hope I didnt offend you by mentioning unnecessary steps because I have no idea what your ur knowledge level is. |
Re: Cannot download apps from the store....
Success! I'm a happy camper once again.....my first time flashing a device....not too bad.....used many sources to get it done and found no one tutorial is complete....
