N9 MeeGo Harmattan Theme Pack "Faster Darker Better" v7.6 (7/10/12)

F2thaK Dezigns would like to announce:
"Faster, Darker, Better" Theme Pack for the Nokia N9!

YOU MUST READ THE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW BEFORE INSTALLING, OR YOU RISK DAMAGING YOUR DEVICE.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR, OR BY YOUR DEVICE IN ANY WAY.

This is a set of dark themes for the N9. They are similar to the standard theme, but have constant dark Backgrounds and light Fonts across every possible Application including the Virtual Keyboard.

The themes also have added haptic feedback, custom transitions, tweaked rotation sensitivity, plus much, much more !!

These themes are fully compatible with all PR Updates up to and including PR1.3. They are also compatible with N9QTweak and Homescreen Settings. (Maybe not with every single tweak though)

Themes include Clock UI MOD, Faster Transitions MOD, Standby Screen MOD and Phone UI MOD.

You have 3 colours to choose from:
- Original (Similar to standard, but all Dark Grey)
- Blue
- Red

http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...query-blue.jpg

WARNING:
These Themes are perfectly stable - AS LONG AS INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOLLOWED EXACTLY.

If you do NOT install it correctly, it will NOT work - PLUS it will mess up the standard theme AND you will need to do a manual restore or reflash your device!!!

If you do not know what flashing is and/or are unable to do it yourself - Install the DEB(s). Just take note that it is NOT the complete theme.

Some files have been left out for now due to packaging issues. (Boot logo, Clock, Maps, and Splash screen MODs)

Currently, I do not provide guaranteed technical support.
I am working on packaging the complete theme as a DEB.

(v7.6 - 7/10/12)

DEB versions:
Blue v7.5: http://db.tt/P7arKtn4
Original v7.5: http://db.tt/XNp1sTOd
Red v7.5: http://db.tt/MsELzANP

If you use my themes, please consider donating. I have spent over 10 months working on them. Donating will encourage me to continue development.

Bugs:
(present in current version)

- Some 3rd Party Apps fonts unreadable (Themes need inverting)
- Third Party caller info not visible in dialer (FIxed?)
- Minor graphic glitch in clock app
- Ovi Store app: text edit text and toolbar icons are dark
- Changing themes can cause a bug which may cause the emoticons to corrupt and show as orange squares. There seems to be a solution to this. See here.

Please report any bugs or feature requests in this thread.

Yes it does....
Put this and the faster transitions mod together and they both look good...

I'm not a fan of the color of the text bubbles in the messages app... any way to change that?

remember unpack the zip into your MyDocs folder

terminal
Devel-Su
rootme
cd /home/user/MyDocs/
cp -R usr/ /
reboot

Editing post to f2thak, found a couple of problems, just want to mention them to you...

In the first one I think it's self explanatory, in the second one I typed hey, but nothing shows...

In messages contact names barely show as well, they are the same color as new text message in the second pic

Trying something out, give me a few minutes...

I'd stay away from this mod, till the writing in texts and emails becomes visible, no offense to f2thak... this is the problem I see with it now.
Unless godofwar424 knows how to fix that....

Well I have been trying to fix that issue but it seems deeper then something i can do :( Not going to be a simple fix, the reason this is, is because Nokia use set values for everything, meaning we can't specify individual values for individual areas of apps :/

This results in the white/invisible text bug, and the hard to see white writing on the grey background error..

How do we change it back to black then, the writing i mean?

Well go into /usr/share/themes/blanco/meegotouch/constants.ini

And at the very top is the Palette settings, Change the foreground option to #000000

To revert to the original white background which seems to work the best, make the background option under the Palette settings = #c8c8c8

This does mean the text will be hard/impossible to read on black backgrounds though, hence the limitation of this mod :(

Doesn't that give me white text? It's currently set at white text and #ffffff, what is the code for black?

Code for silver?

godofwar424 2011-12-06 02:12

Re: [Announce] GLOBAL Dark Theme

You could always try having foreground set to #c8c8c8 or a slightly darker grey which would be readable on both the black and white background, or just use a colour, such as:

Lime green - #7cf804
Blue - #047bf7
Red - #d1001a

Where do you get these codes from, is there a list?

Got it working with red #ff0000

Might be worth making a warning/bug list so that people don;t assume its finished, because atm the hard to see text bugs in email and calendar make this mod unusable for everyday.

Any progress on these bugs, I seem to have hit a dead end :(

Mail app and Calendar app still not possible to add details to an event in calendar or to see the text when composing an email.

Also I would recommend making your Button_Foreground in Constants.ini to #000000 as it makes the button writing black and thus more visible.

Making great progress :)

ps. it seems any changes over stock seem to add a bit of lag to conversations :(

Re: [Announce] Dark Theme for N9 (Conversations, Mail, Phone, etc.)

I wonder if there's a way we can just kill and restart a process to apply the new theme instead of rebooting the while device? Similar to how on our N900 we could kill the rtcom-messaging-ui and then it would apply the new theme when we reopened it.
