Here's the port of FlowPlayer for harmattan
It doesn't has a lot of functionallity, but it's nice

Just scroll the album list, select one and start playing it.
It has a lyrics fetching function.

It's very simple, but it's nice.

Really nice looking interface, I hope it has shuffle, by the way, when I play a song when i choose next the app suddenly closes, bug? Nice Work really:)

hi,
i have an issue with this app. For any particular album, not all the songs are displayed. For example if album A has 5 songs by 5 different singers, only the first song is shown for selection. the rest are nowhere to be found.

I've added album art fetching (longpress on album art) and metadata editing options (pressing current song details). And landscape support (still working on it)

Pb reading album art for album names with special characters
 

Hello CepiPerez,

first of all, congratulations on your great work. Thank you for sharing this app with us. The things that I like on FlowPlayer (0.0.3) are:

- did not have any problem with my 4200+ MP3 collection that resides on my N9 (all of them are properly tagged with ID3V2.3 tags only)
- on its first run, it didn't need any time to "refresh" music library
- the interface is really quick, no lags at all (sometimes a bit too quick for me, but that just needs some getting used to)

And the bugs are:
- album art is not loaded for albums that have a "special" character in their name, I can confirm these: .,&<> (probably anything different from alphabet letters and numbers)
- when I choose the first song of a particular album and then tap on the next song button, it starts playing the last song, then I can't change a song in that album anymore using the previous/next buttons
- when a song comes to its end the player crashes (does not play a following song) - this is a showstopper as I can't use it

Suggestions:
- I would not hesitate to pay for this app if all of those above bugs are resolved and if you added a graphic equalizer (there isn't any usable music player for N9 that has it as far as I know)
- gapless MP3 playback (not really necessary, but would be nice)
- home screen controls (not really necessary, but would be nice)

Will probably be that nice file name bug I reported months ago and still not even answered.

Not possible, only Nokia has the ability to add items in LockScreen aside notifications.

Great work, great improvement over 0.0.3:

Version 0.0.5:
- Playback issues corrected - I confirm
- Compilation albums with various artists work fine if tagged properly - I confirm

Bugs (0.0.5):
- Album art still missing from albums with album tag that contains: +<> (maybe more). This is tested, because I removed those from album name tag and after that the album art displays correctly.
- Library contains albums that no more exist in my N9 memory (album placeholder with or without album art but with no songs). Is it possible to refresh the library or somehow get rid of these remains (delete some configuration file etc.)? And the stock N9 music player doesn't display any missing albums.

Can you give me an example of missings albums?
I have an album called "colouring book" and taged it as "colouring book <ep>" and it works. the tracker removes all inside "<>" for album art creation, same for "()".
About removed albums, it's a tracker problem. Let me see if removing some file it can be fixed, cause "tracker-control -r" fixes it but removes all the contacts and sms from database too.

Hi Matias,

Great work. Thank you for the update. It works with those special characters I wrote about earlier. I guess there are still some characters in album name tag that prevent the album art from being read correctly (ex. @ as in: Mut@ge).

I tried to test the tag editing function in 0.0.6 (I modified album name of one song). It works well, but the FlowPlayer can't detect the change in music library as it (I suppose) can't refresh it by itself. The only way to reveal this change to FlowPlayer is to run the default N9 "Music" app that is able refresh the music library.
Do you plan adding the automatic library refresh function to FlowPlayer?
Do you plan a mass tagging option, i. e. change artist/album/year for the whole album or for example change artist name fore more albums etc.?

The other thing that comes to my mind regarding the library is to disable the FlowPlayer during an active USB connection (mass storage or MTP) as it's done by stock Music app.

;) But my biggest wish would be for the graphic equalizer.

I've added last.fm and more stuff to this player
Not shuffle yet, but maybe later
I need to change qml audio playback to phonon to get the equalizer, but phonon needs a lot of work, like pause on incoming calls and a lot more. I'll do this when I get more time.

Please N9 users check it, cause Nokia Store rejects the app (black screen on startup)

Hello Matias,

0.0.7 is a great upgrade from 0.0.6. You did an amazing job. I really like the interface changes as grid view, list view. I really appreciate the multiple pages mode. The fact that you consider implementing the equalizer in the future is great news.
What I found out lately is that flowplayer supports "jack sensing" and it pauses playback automatically when headphone jack is pulled out. Great!

Last.fm support - works great - Artist, Album and Song info works, scrobbling, love track both work fine.

Lyrics fetching works as you intended (I believe that automatic online fetching wasn't implemented by design).

I have the impression that the loading time is slower than with 0.0.6, but I guess that's because you added the library refresh function (my library counts 251 albums/3060 songs). There's a system warning screen (FlowPlayer not responding - Close application? - Yes/No) displayed on every startup because of this. Maybe a different (non blocking) startup strategy would be possible: start app first, schedule update later after startup.
I noticed that the library gets updated only on second start after adding something to the library. Example:
1. connect N9 in USB mass storage mode
2. add an album
3. disconnect USB
4. run flowplayer
5. the new album is not visible in the library
6. quit flowplayer
7. run flowplayer
8. the new album becomes visible

There are still some characters that cause problems with album art display or album content recognition. I think that you should allow all characters (@' - are not interpreted correctly).
Example 1: Album name: It's Only Rock 'n Roll - Album is listed correctly with its album art, but the songs aren't visible.
Example 2: Same artist, album names are: Great Song, Great Song (EP), Great Song Tour (1999) - when I choose the album called Great Song, it contains songs from all three aforementioned albums - incorrect behaviour. When I choose album Great Song (EP) or Great Song Tour (1999) they both contain only their respective songs - correct behaviour. Default N9's Music app doesn't have this problem.

- Implement a qprocess to avoid the close application dialog.
- Check specials characters to get album art
- Check album album songs

I think I can make an update for tomorrow, that's not too much work

But the library is updated by tracker, I don't think I can do something about this.

Small changes:
- I put the tracker-sparql (for reading albums) in a thread, it suposes to work in background and prevent the "not responding - close application" dialog.
- I've added shuffle option (only in multipages mode for now), so please test how it works
- Also, I've corrected the code to make it PR1.2 ready

Shuffle seems to be working, but repeats and loops on one song in an album quite a few times. Its random playing i guess thus the repeats. But its really a good start. Keep up the good work :)

I must say I'm impressed. Many issues were fixed in comparison with 0.0.7. FlowPlayer is shaping up to be a great app for N9.

Could you please add an option to Sort albums by the year tag in ascending and descending order?

Would it be possible to add the display of track number and total number of tracks during playback? (Like this: 7/13)

Could you please add an option to disable/enable playback looping at the end of the album?

System warning screen (FlowPlayer not responding - Close application? - Yes/No) is still displayed on every startup with a large music library. Is there a possibility to do the refresh only when it's needed (something similar to what the standard Nokia Music app does)? Or add an option to choose Update behavior: Automatic/Off/Force.

Album art scrolling gets a bit choppy if the embedded album art is of larger size (around 900x900 pixels).

Data connection is activated on every startup. Can this be fixed to start it only when necessary? My 3G internet connection is set up as automatic with background connections disabled.

Hey CepiPereze, I've been enjoying your Filebox for a while now and just decided to try Flowplayer. The choice of icon is quite weird. It is hardy readable.

How about something effectively simple, like this?

Note that this is your "f" done using vectors since I didn't know what font was that. Give me the font name and it will look even better. Looks very nice on N9's black background. Feel free to use it, or let me know what changes you want etc.

I think shuffle must be modified because when i click shuffle it does not change anything.Tracks keeps playing by number as not randomized at all.

New icon seems great but the splash picture on the startup is so depressive i think :D I made Flowplayer my default music player for my N9.And that would be great if app would have this things :

1) Sorting tracks by Artist.Application already has this feautre but it's not like it supposed to be.I mean that would be great if this can be like this :

* Artist 1
* Artist 2 (Not Album names between 2 artist)

And when i click Artist 1
* Album 1
* Album 2

2) Download all available lyrics for all tracks and album arts automatically.Users can download all lyrics and album arts automatically for once and album arts or lyrics wrong they can change manually.

3) Now Playing Info on standby screen like default Music player.

After theese application will be greatest music player in the world :)

That's better. I like it much more. How about you get rid of that 'flowplayer' inscription and leave just the background? Should look more aesthetically. The icon is 'singed' with the application's name anyway.

Hi there, I like this player a lot for its cover search, lyrics search functions and last FM integration.
I left a review in the store (same nickname) with my opinions (I don't feel like repeating it all), Just want to say it's amazing :) A bit more functions and it's perfect. Gj

- Added a settings page
- Option for rescan music library at every startup or manually
- Fetch lyrics automatically

I need to work a bit more yet, but it's something

It should be a lot smoother than previous version.

But now I've added playlists support
It's in beta, and maybe it has some bugs
