PD: it take a lot of time (800ms) to swith speaker on and almost no time to switch it off, I'm looking into it, but maybe there's no easy way to speed it up..

Re: I WILL PAY for this app to be made/ported to the N9 !

N9 is missing physical keyboard and I think camera button so it is only used by proximity I think it is bad people will here the person on the phone when you move your ear away

Re: I WILL PAY for this app to be made/ported to the N9 !

I'll pay for it too. This is probably the most missed app going to the N9 from the N900 for me.

Re: I WILL PAY for "Phone Speakers Switcher" app to be ported to the N9

Hi, could you explain to me how the app works? my N900 it's far I can't get it soon, maybe I could develop this application, I think that you want to activate speakers when phone it's away and deactivate them when you put it next to your ear? is it right? if so, I think I might be able to do it..

That's precisely what it does. It also did something else on the N900 but it really was of no consequence to me. Auto speakerphone though is truly a blessing..

I don't have an active paypal account, so no donations for me :(

I'm happy that it works as you expected, when I tested it the icon was updated for me, I have a full daemon version now, without icon and with system settings applet, I'll upload it to store and you can buy it there for just 1€ :)

If it works as expected, you can already count on my purchase. Thanks for the quick work.

Re: N9 "Phone Speaker Switcher" app v0.1 (5/2/12)

Only thing that needs to be done is have the phone apps "speaker" button toggle at the same time so we can override the switch, ATM you cannot do this.

Re: N9 "Phone Speaker Switcher" app v0.1 (5/2/12)

in my phone the phone "speaker" button toggles at the same time. Hence, able to override the switch.

Who is this Iktwo guy? This isn't the first time he's helped this way. It seems he knows Harmattan really well. I wonder if we can get him to write some of the apps that are desperately needed for this platform.

Thank you for the hard work Iktwo.

Thanks for your words, I love the maemo community, the N900 was the best device I have ever used, I try to contribute community with some applications, I want the N9 to be better than N900, I have a lot of ideas, but not enough time, I would be happy to develop those apps that are needed and I'll keep trying to do that..

unfort. having download problem: downloads but wont launch; cant re-dwnld. Uninstalled and started again, same prob. No reply from Nokia. :(

EDIT: My problem has been solved.

Actually, there never was a download or installation-related failure. The application is in fact installed, and functioning as expected. The apparent problem stems from the fact that the application is not launched in the conventional sense, but rather is triggered automatically by toggling the speaker phone control to "on". Only when the app is "launched" from the store interface is an error reported.

Nice app!

Nice app!

App from nokia store, don't have icon on app screen. After installation, go to setting -> application -> speaker auto switcher. Here you can switch ON or OFF... by default it's ON..

Hi Iktwo, thanks for awesome speaker switcher app. It's a very useful app to have and best of all it doesn't get in your way but just does its job. On another note do you think you can develop a wi-fi analyzer app to detect and list the signal strength/lock status of wi-fi networks for N9? We are still missing this important app.

Edit: The apps messes up the sound between headphone and speaker when playing music. The headphone sound is randomly transferred to the speaker. The effect is cancelled by setting speaker switcher to off.

You are totally right, there's a problem when headphones are connected and proximity sensor changes state, I'm fixing this, also I want to say that I've been looking a way to develop a wi-fi analyzer, I just don't know which it's the correct way, using osso-wlan, wireless-tools or what.. I will develop a WiFi analizer ASAP. thanks!

Edit: It's now fixed, and has been uploaded to store, I hope it will be available by mondey-tuesday

Thank you for your fast response. There is a good wifiInfo app for N900 by Tim Teulings. You may be able to get some info from the author or his homepage. I've contacted him but unfortunately he does not want to port to Harmattan.

Bought it too! Nice work I must say!

It does not seem to work with Skype calls, only with phone calls. My kind request would be that maybe you could add support for them too. :)

Hi
I have a little problem..
I use Parrot MiniKit Slim (Bluetooth speaker) in my car and when I put my phone to the mobile holder in the car and I try to call or answer, the phone automatically a jump to the phone speaker... But when my phone in the pocket, it's ok, work like should to work via BT speaker... Can you fix this ?

Iktwo 2012-02-23 14:25

Re: N9 "Phone Speaker Switcher" app v0.1 (5/2/12)

Thanks for reporting this one, I haven't noticed as I don't use a BT speaker, so, your suggestion is that when bluetooth it's on no switch it's made?

hi
yes.. I checked this again and when I my phone in pocket, it's also jump from bt speaker to phone speaker. Please cancel this.
Thanks :)

Schturman 2012-02-24 13:15

Re: N9 "Phone Speaker Switcher" app v0.1 (5/2/12)

another point.. When you create update, please cancel the switching to phone speaker NOT only when BT is on, but when BT is on and have active connection to BT audio device like my speaker or bt headphones.. Because if I not connected right now, but bt is on, it also will not to switch to phone speaker and it's not good..
Thanks
