N900 Backup files
Hi,
Does anyone know of a program that can extract the data from the N900 onboad backup files? Many thanks |
Re: N900 Backup files

Re: N900 Backup files
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, Yes, I have done that. Does anyone know of a utility that can read the "ossi" n900 internal backup data files, as programs like Noki can read backup data files but only from OVI or PC Suite backup files like .nbu etc, etc. OVI and PC Suite will not sync my sms messages so I can not create a .nbu file..... I have however managed to make a backup of the sms messages to the n900 itself, but this file is a different format, I think "ossi" Can anyone help..... Many thanks, Nick. |
Re: N900 Backup files
Hi,
I need something that can read the backup files as well. My N900 is broken and the only thing I have is a backup. I need at least my contacts... What can I do? |
Re: N900 Backup files
AFAIK there is no tool for the onboard zipped backups.
But you could do the following: unzip the comm_and_cal.zip goto directory Root/home/user for contacts: cd to .osso-abook-backup/db load the file addressbook.db into a text editor and at least you will see your contact info You may write a script to extract the vcf card info from that proprietary db format for SMS: cd to .rtcom-eventlogger untar the file backup.tgz load the el-v1.db into a sqlite3 editor and you may extract SMS via SQL |

Re: N900 Backup files
You might be able to restore the files into the SDK and work with them there? (I've never tried this).
