Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
Let's see if we can figure out where the radio antenna out is, so that we could do some hw modding and enable FMTX :)
EDIT: Look at the bottom of page 7 of the schematics... |

wow, thank you very much :)

Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
Hey, someone knows about this for Nokia N950?
As I have E7 too - keyboard is able to be replaced... I just wanna AMOLED to N950 from E7 too :D |
Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
I read the other day that fmtx is impossible on N9, well as far as inbuilt solution goes of course.
I think it was Konttori that said it, it was definitely a Nokia insider anyways. Seem's pretty likely since it still hasn't been implemented as of yet. I offered the schematics on another thread a while back and no one seemed to bite, although I imagine you spent a fair amount of time finding them right, so good stuff, I should have just uploaded them somewhere back in nov and saved you the effort. Edit: It was Konttori http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...light=konttori its buried fairly deep in there somewhere but the whole things worth a read regardless. I imagine he was meaning it's impossible using just stock hardware. |

javispedro has more of handle on it all.... He was able to rule-out the N950, but couldn't say the same for the N9 until he owns or is loaned one. The hw's there unlike the N950, a dedicated antennae is the issue, not yet clear if it's insurmountable. Read the entire epic FMRX/RDS thread at forum.meego.com for the full story. |

Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
Both on page 6 and 7 it mentions FM antenna.

Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
yes, as FM antenna ist he same as BT antenna. We are just talking about antenna for FM Transmitter.

Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
i looked at the schematic, the fmant comes out of the headphne amplifier. it is hooked up to the same lines as headphone output transformer. i dont know the model no of headphone amplifier and BOB. if we can find datasheets for the headphone amp it would be helpful. Bob it seems like is the WLAN/BT chip some of them support FM output.
Interesting, in the schematic, there is no picture of the Top. Only the bottom. |
Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
The FMANT is the input from the headset lead for an integral radio receiver - it is not for TX purposes.

Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
There are WLAN chips that support FMtx, do you know what part no is in the N9?

Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
I found the part no. its TI wl1271 from the "aircrack" thread. Its solds as a "wireless connectivity solution" by ti. I found some promising signals stuff here.
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index....ivity_Platform Specifically: FM Antenna FM_RX_ ANT To an FM antenna on the board RF connector FM Antenna FM_TX_ ANT To an FM antenna on the board RF connector So only one ANT input is shown on the schematic. If this a BGA type chip, and the TX_ANT was left unconnected it would be impossible to mod it in. Besides audio input signals and control and such. i dont see this signal listed on the schematic on page 7 on N6301, its not a common practice but since its a "service" schematic, it may have been left off. BTW, that CAN halfway down in that above picture is under where the wifi lies. |
Re: [REF]N9 RM-696 Service manual (L1+L2) and schematics
FM Antenna FM_RX_ ANT To an FM antenna on the board RF connector
FM Antenna FM_TX_ ANT To an FM antenna on the board RF connector But, as I have read somewhere here in forum about FM TX, someone said that there is no antenna for TX, just pinout. Donno if I am right... |
