PR1.2 by region

Can someone post the expected time line for the update for various regions? I have a 16 gig Singapore version that is waiting for a PR1.2 update. Thanks!

I'd suggest downloading via Navifirm, otherwise you are at the mercy of Nokia and the individual operators. I Don't have it in NZ yet either. I'm going to wait until the weekend then install from navifirm if it hasn't arrived ota

Re: PR1.2 by region

Just flash using the Navifirm image (Northern European is essentially the "generic" version). There is no guarantee when any further specific reasons will receive the PR1.2 or other updates, so you are at the mercy of Nokia - but if you flash the Generic image, you will get updates first and you can always flash back to your original country image (but not vice-versa).

i would love to do navifirm, but i am not the most tech savvy person. I wa afraid ill brick my phone. Are there step by steps?

Re: PR1.2 by region

Careful on flashing, Some regions 1.1 are not allowing flashing of other countries 1.1, PR 299 aus variants are not allowing 1.2 and is giving software modified errors. There is no way to go back after that.

Yes..google the downloads
Download NaviFirm+ v1.7
Click N9 (RM-696) Choose North Europe (your color/GB) download
Download Flasher (search this forum on how to flash)
Go to C:\Program Files\Nokia\ Hold Shift+Right Click Flasher folder
Hit Open Terminal here
type flasher -F yourdownloadedfirmware.bin -f
Power off phone and plug it in

Enjoy

Asianmoo, I have a singapore 64GB 059J239 and I changed my product code via NSS and updated it too PR 1.2. I would suggest doing that as it is much safer then flashing.

That seems weird.......I doubt it's region specific....maybe just a faulty download/flash?

I have a 64gb from Malaysia, earlier today I flashed the northern europe version (emmc too), and everything is excellent. Just do a normal flashing.

Been researching to see if there was anything wrong but, nothing.

Did you try flashing both firmware & emmc files? My n9 also came with PR 299 by default but I'd changed it to 001 variant during PR 1.1. I'd no issues with PR 1.2 OTA update.

Now I'm going to spend the whole day wondering if I should just try to update without any kind of reset, or if I should hard reset first and start from fresh. Does it make any difference? Has anyone got a view on this kind of thing?

:)

Not an exact time-line but explains the logic being it all (or madness depending how you look at it)

I did and am now getting the firmware changed screen, I am stuck now. Flashing went fine but it just does this now.

Woke up here in the states and got my update OTA. Australian 64 gb version. Install took about half hr after download. Works great. It's interesting because I never got my PR1.1 after waiting a month after its release OTA so I just used Navfirm. I won't complain for it working this time :)

Re: PR1.2 by region

I flashed with Phoenix, if anyone's interested. Phoenix 2011.46, flashed the Italian Black 16 GB firmware over a Country Variant Switzerland PR1.1_480. After the process Phoenix failed to initialize something (phone stuck in "test mode") but I knew all the files were installed correctly. So I switched it off, restarted and now everything's ok. This update is epic!!

i woke up this morning and I got the OTA notifications for update!!! I just finished and its great. I never received any notice for PR1.1 either...I had to use NSS.

Hopefully PR1.2 will bring a more stable battery consumption.

I have a Singapore 16 gig unbranded
