Redak is just a simple text editor to be used on touchscreen


It has been tested on maemo/meego harmattan n950 and n9 ...

I created this basic editor to work on plain text files on my n950 HandSet
since I did not find any finger friendly editor
that could suppport on current n950 firmware ...


Basic features are ready to be tested :
Load, Save, Save As, Browse and Edit text
(select, cut and paste).

Features are very limited but enough for me ...
I can't promise I will polish it
and add more features
but it's opensource
so I can promise i will make efforts to merge patches ...

Remember to close virtual keyboard just swipe it down...

Some screenshots would be nice, btw what about apps4meego, why wouldnt you publish there as well?

In Apps for MeeGo : Redak Text Editor.
It is easy to install the "Apps for MeeGo" software (just go to Apps for MeeGo site using your Nokia N9/N950 and download & install the client).

Just Bought from store: Bug from a quick test: Just after you save a file, you cant see it in the folder... But its visible once you quit and reopen application(this is when youre creating a new file.)

This is just a refresh problem cos it did not show me a doc i copied after i opened redak. You can include a button to refresh view like in myExplorer to refresh current directory view and auto refresh on Save/Save As.

Swipe down to hude keyboard is very useful! :) I find it decidedly annoying in the default editor to not be able to get out of edit mode once you get in it, without closing the doc.

Adding an option to create a new txt.
Its nice to be able to see the whole path on top, but we need to put the additional / before the actual filename before saving the file, otherwise we'd accidentally get a filename like: MyNotesReminder.txt instead of MyNotes/Reminder.txt

It is also difficult to enter a filename if you have a long absolute path.

Would be good to be able to enable "View hidden files and folders"

Fremantle could be considered , but I just miss a device to test this ...

Just bought through OVI. A basic "getting started" guide would be helpful, because after choosing ´save as' I'm not sure what to do.
