How to disable swype tips in PR1.2?
After upgrading to PR1.2 I started receiving popup tips in when using the Swype keyboard. These tips tell me that I don't have to press space manually, press shift to capitalize starting letters in a sentence or that I can swype from a punctuation mark to space in order to have it inserted. All good tips but after seeing them several times everyday I have gotten a bit tired of them, they often cover the text that I am writing so I that can't read it.
Anyone know of a way to disable them? I have tried searching the net without finding anything. I tried enabling the extra settings in /usr/share/swype/data/SwypeConfig.ini but none of the new options seemed to affect this. |

Try setting ShowToastTips to 0 in ~/.swype/settings.ini

Thank you, that did the trick. I missed the configuration file in the home directory.

Wait... in my root, I don't have a .swype.
Am I missing something? |

Assume that the reader has no knowledge of command line functions. Is it done through terminal then Pico/nano? |
