Finally selling my N900...

Getting Video calling and Flash support in the same week for my N9 has done it for me. I'm ready to part with my N900.

Here's the auction page:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280842508779

I purged my user data but left the software installed (latest CSSU, among others) in the hopes that it will be of use to it new owner.

Phone includes applied ZAGG SHIELD screen protector, AC adapter, stylus, orginal box and manual.

The phone has only minor signs of wear and is in very good condition. The battery is brand new and holds a good charge.

This phone has been modified with an enhanced kernel, and set to a default overclocked processor speed of 1Ghz over the standard 600 Mhz.

The Adobe flash version on this Browser has also been modified so that it reads as version 10.1, as opposed to the standard N900 version of 9.4.

Further CSSU community enhancements to this N900 include an updated desktop that support automatic rotation to portrait mode in all applications and in the desktop.

Many extra pieces of software are pre-installed on this phone including:

Sygic Mobile Maps voice guided GPS navigation

Palm OS emulator Garnet VM

fMMS Picture Messaging (pre-configured for T-Mobile USA)

JoikuSpot Premium Wi-Fi hotspot internet sharing

WebOS game manager (including Transformers, NOVA, and Need for Speed)

MAME arcade emulator

Picdrive Sega Genesis, MegaDrive, SegaCD emulator

Sega Saturn Emulator

Nintendo 64 emulator

Sony Playstation 1 emulator

NES, SNES, and GBA Emulators

DOSbox DOS emulation

CPS2 Capcom arcade emulation including Aliens vs. Predator and Marvel vs Capcom

Neo Geo emulation

Quake 3 (full PC version)

Duke Nukem 3D (full PC version)

ScummVM

Starcraft

Ur Quan Masters (Star Control 2)

ZenBound

WireShark

VNC Server (running automatically on the phone upon boot)

Re: Finally selling my N900...

A used one for $280? Good Luck.
People can get a brand new one for $100 less.

Slow down there.

You can't sell that with Duke Nukem 3D and other non-Nokia non-free and unlicensed software loaded.

Also, I think that as courtesy to the next user, you should reflash it with plain PR1.3.

Re: Finally selling my N900...

Edited the auction page and removed references to commercial game data files or ROMS that I'll be removing prior to sale. Almost missed that...

It's the year 2012. There is no such thing as a "new" N900.

And if you think that the final auction sale price for any real functional Nokia N900 is $100 less then my phone is selling for, then you have some serious problems with reality perception.

I don't know what you are talking about. Of course you can buy a new N900 now. Google search for it, they are everywhere. If you are saying all the new N900 are sold, then you are definitely over-estimated the popularity of N900.

This bidding for a New N900 is just ended, priced $176 with no shipping fee, which is $111 less than your used N900 ($280+$7 shipping fee)

And if people do not want to bid, they can pay for $198 buy-it-now price, it is still way cheaper than yours.

I don't have problems with reality perception. You are the one who cannot accept the truth and reality.

Re: Finally selling my N900...

I think we should have a rules review in the For Sale section.

Discussion should be limited to people interested in buying it and not criticising the sellers price etc etc.

I think its shocking behaviour..total lack of respect

Re: Finally selling my N900...

That is called "Freedom of Speech", as long as people are telling the truth. Who give you the right to tell people what can say and cannot say? Are you interested in buying? Well, I am but I just try to point out he is way overpriced his used N900, so he can low his price(which he did). What's wrong with that?

Just exercising my "right" = "Freedom of Speech".

I think people should be free to price their item at whatever they want and if someone decides to buy at that price then its up to them, pointing out publicly that someones price is too high doesnt do the seller any favours and could mean they get less money.

What makes you an expert on market values?!

The linked auction is from "cellphoneforever". If you look at the feedback from them, you will note several people complaining that their "new" phone was actually a refurb or previously owned device. In particular there are at least 5 reviews from N900 sales, and all but 1 notes that the device was clearly not "new". In short, there are plenty of unreputable dealers out there that will slap a "new" label on just about anything to sell it.

N900 production stopped some time ago. If there are still new-in-box devices, they're not common, and probably in shops that have them overpriced for their market (eg list price + markup still).

Noting that there are other used devices out there for less is fine. Calling someone names and insulting them isn't. Especially when you don't bother to check your own "facts" about "new" devices being available.

Re: Finally selling my N900...

Historically, discussions of whether an asked price is fair or realistic have been allowed and are in fact common on this site.

Re: Finally selling my N900...

I don't think anyone should be prohibited from talking about prices or anything else in the forums.

However, to criticize how much I or anyone else chooses to sell our devices for while at the same time actually including URL links to cheaper auctions of dubious quality in the same thread?

That's just trolling of the highest caliber. Seriously, who takes time out of their day just to crap all over other people?

Oh yeah, forum trolls, that's who.

Re: Finally selling my N900...

I have both N9 & N900 and I'll tell you this...

Do not sell the N900. You will miss it, it is a much more joyfull device to use.

*the flash support for the N9 is crippled atm. N900's flash is miles ahead.

Re: Finally selling my N900...

I like your n900, but the price is a bit too high for me, I would purchase it for $145, plus $15 shipping to Canada (as ebay says) so around $160 shipped (versus the $195 it would be if I bid on it right now)

Appreciate the interest, and if it had failed to sell I would happily entertain your offer.

Alas, it did sell at auciton. Hope you find an N900 for yourself soon.
