No PR1.2 for 059L5D0?
I just purchased a Nokia N9 from Expansys here in the UK. The model number written on the SIM tray is: 059L5D0
I have yet to receive an OTA update to PR 1.2. Being impatient and wanting the PR 1.2 goodness, I decided to try and perform the upgrade myself by following the sticky guide here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ght=Update+1.2 Unfortunately for me, I can't find the correct download for model "059L5D0". The model number listed for UK & Ireland is "059J1Z7". Which firmware should I download (if any)? Should I just wait for an OTA update? Any help really appreciated. Thanks. |
Re: No PR1.2 for 059L5D0?
I doubt there will be an OTA-Update since you have a country variant. I solved the problem by chaning my product code and updating my phone afterwards with NSU, so I now have PR_001 instead of PR_480

1.Connect you Phone with the USB cable 2.Now open NSS, scan the new device 3.Choose “phone info" after that select "read" 4.You can now see what your phone product code is. 5.At this moment you must modify the power mode to local 6.Your handset will restart in local mode, 7. Select enable the product code and write a new product code over there then click the "write" option . 8.Set power mode to normal once more and hit "read" |

But AIR you don't have to change PR_code, you can just use one of the other fw images.* You don't have to use a fw image that matches your model no. etc. In fact I've seen more recommendations against changing PR_code than for. There's a thread or 3 in the N9/950 sub-forum now by one guy... He's gotten himself into all sorts of trouble by going down that route. He was mostly unlucky though IIRC.... *There's rules about which one you can use e.g. PR_code/no. must be equal or higher than your current fw. |

Re: No PR1.2 for 059L5D0?
I'll wait for OTA update. My N9 has the 059L5D0 and I'am old enough to wait for PR 1.2. Can somebody explain to me why you need the new version right now?

Because you can do the latest and the greatest.

@OP: Use the flashing guide and put the 001 firmware onto your phone. There's no need to wait, nor change your product code. Also, this way you don't have to wait for future firmware versions either. |

The problem is, that guy who had issues flashing, used the NSS Pro, instead of the plain NSS. Had he used the latter, he should've never got into trouble... That's why I posted the direct link for the plain NSS and spared him the trouble of downloading the wrong one. I can attest that there isn't any problem using the plain NSS. I changed mine 3 times, from AU to CE to NE, without ANY upgrade issues whatsover... Of course, there should always be a warning. If you don't know what you're doing, stay out of it... And yes, there's no need to change the product code to flash to a different fw version - as long as it's of the same PR or higher.... It's a given (for those in the know at least) :) |
Re: No PR1.2 for 059L5D0?
There may be light at the end of the tunnel. I found news at the Nokia website:
http://www.nokia.com/ch-de/support/produkte/n9-00/ The PC 059L5D0 should be the corresponding one to the swiss-german N9, isn't it? |

That NSS Pro is the successor to NSS, & the one that should be used nowadays  But yeah as a rule most folks should just stay away from it, not necessary. |
Re: No PR1.2 for 059L5D0?
yesterday I got PR 1.2 OTA and installed it without any problems. Thanks to the developer crew and the community.

Re: No PR1.2 for 059L5D0?
I own a Nokia N9 with product code 059L5D0 and still there is no notification to update to version PR1.3! Anyone else with this issue? Any info about when this update will be available?
Thanks! |
