Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
3 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I modified the standard call-ui slightly. Moved the caller avatar to top middle and made it larger. When receiving a call, answer and dismiss buttons are larger. Only for PR1.2. Now I see the avatar is not centered, but I don't care :) Note! Propably does not work with video calls. I haven't had a chance to test so I assume the UI will be broken with video calls. Use at your own responsibility. Edit: Tested briefly with GTalk, and seems to be working. Installation from terminal or ssh: Backup original and copy this over the old one. You need to be root. File location is /usr/share/themes/base/meegotouch/call-ui/style/call-ui.css To apply the changes you need to kill the call-ui process. It will respawn. Code:
~ $ ps -ef|grep call-ui |
Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
Greetings.
this request in another post . You can create one .deb |
Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
Request? In what post?
|
Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
Installation instructions added to first post. I don't know how to create a deb, so this has to be done manually so far.

Hi.
You can enlarge the red end call projection. It would be a perfection of mod. Thanks for your time. N9FMLTA. |

Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
Hi, awesome work loving the new ui.
One problem, if a call fails and the redial option appears, only the top of redial button shows as the end call button takes up more space. Could you please move the redial button to work with the lagged button sizes :) |

Yes.

Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
Thanks for noting this. It is now fixed in the OP. Also, I tested with Google Talk video call, and it seems to be working so these changes apparently didn't break anything.

Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
It works perfect.
Ask for help to package it in a .deb |
Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
Why is a deb necessary??
Its so incredibly simple, just copy the file across. Its not exactly a rocket science, if you don't want to use terminal then use SSH which is even easier! |
Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
Something similar possible in N900?

You're right, I use to install fileboxroot is copy and paste. But the ease of an installer .deb is not of more. |

Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
I can understand a deb if it was multiple files or folders and you needed to mess around with chmod and chown.
But a simple file exchange that everyone who has used a PC will have done multiple times, I see no point in a deb. Also debs will cause delays in updates, its easier for him to just upload the changes he made instantly instead of go through the process of building a deb everytime. |
Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
I agree. I don't see a reason for a deb and don't plan to do it.

Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
I really don't know much about technology or terminal or SSH... Could someone post like really easy instructions how to get this? Thanks :)

Download and install WinSCP if you are using Windows Download the file in the first post. Open WinSCP and type your n9's WiFi IP Address. Code:
Username - root Reboot your phone. |
Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
You can google this, but here is how to enable SSH access to your phone:
1. enable developer mode (Settings > Security > Developer mode > toggle Developer mode on) 2. You will now have terminal app on the launcher screen. Open it. 3. type "passwd" and give a new password for the "user" account. Remember this password! 4. Now you can login to the phone from WIFI network. Find out the phone IP in your network and the username is "user". Use WinSCP to copy files to user home folder or PuTTY to access terminal. You need root access to copy these css-files to system folders. Log in to your phone as "user" and type "devel-su" (password is "rootme"). Be careful! You are now root and can easily brick the phone. Do only things you are absolutely sure about. |
Re: Modified call-ui (N9 PR1.2)
It is best to install the file with the fileboxroot.

It's just the ease of copying and pasting.
Just that. |
