from where to start
 

hey guys
i am really happy to join this community :)
i am a programmer i have made several apps for windows but i want to start developing for linux (i think its easier or what ?)
i have ubuntu and i like dealing with it
but from where to start i dont know ..
I have searched around before posting this and i found
things related to SDK and scratchbox
and i dont know what are these things..

So please help me finding the right path :)

First of all, head over to http://qt.nokia.com and get the QtSDK. The SDK includes the Harmattan target for N950/N9 and the Maemo target for the N900.
The SDK comes with some coding examples, too.

It doesn't matter if you have Windows or Linux or MacOS.
The Qt SDK has installers for all those systems. On the Linux side, Ubuntu is a good choice, but other distros should work as well with the Qt SDK installer.
Download the online or offline installer for Linux, make it executable (right-click on the file in Nautilus -> Properties), and run it. From there on the installation is GUI-driven.

Please would you clarify what you are asking, do you want to create programs that actually run on Ubuntu or are you saying you want to develop apps for mobile devices and that your development machine has Ubuntu as its OS?

google it you lazy mofo and if you get stuck... google it some more... and if you get stuck again google more and more and more.. until google cant help you, we'll be here to answer what google couldn't.

@bingomion : to start with i have searched alot before posting and this is mentioned in the 1st post also i have posted here so as not to spam people through active threads.. I have posted this for the devs to answer ..
finally its not your place here ..you are not paying anything for the space of the forum so keep your mouse shut .. know something ? say it in a clean proper way else.. you know there's a report option..
