Email app not updating why is this?
 

For months now I just can't work it out but my email app has 4 hotmail accounts listed in it, but none of them auto update at the five minute setting I've given it to update in, using wlan or 3G. The only time it will update is if I disconnect from wlan or 3g and reconnect... or if I do a manual send and receive. Any ideas? And yes I've flashed the phone and it still won't work..

my n9 sometimes same as yours , but some time update my email account Automatically .

not just email , feed , facebook too.

Still this clicking here funny stuff anit helping this darn n900 to auto update... I mean what could have happened? it worked fine then just stopped...

Have checked and checked... but will again... its a b******* not having push... but even worse doing a manual update only to find mail a day old!! that's not cool at all.

Ok I just did a little test.. and I find the phone is auto updating... as the update time is showing the last update every five mins... but its not retrieving the emails from the hotmail server!..

So why not?.

i think lumia 900 is a very good option ,
but not the best option !!

Try this,

go to your Account app, go to your email account -> disable -> save it. do it for all your email.

then after that enable it -> save it.

This workaround works for facebook & twitter in my case

I tried just that last night and it did do the first five min update, and I thought yes... so I quickly sent myself some emails on my pc, and waited 10 mins but the phone failed to get the mails from the hotmail accs!:(

try to enable only one of your accounts not all of them, and have a look here

There seems to be some confusion on this thread - you're using modest on an N900 right? Whereas some of the people here think you're on fenix on an N9. Might be worth moving this thread to the right subforum.

Can't help with your actual problem though, sorry. I do remember modest being awful on many levels though.

try cleaning the email tracker using this code in xterm

tracker-processes -r

Ok So tried all that and more but to no avail.. I think Ill leave it.. only a few more days until I get my SGS3, so hopefully I'll be able to have all accounts fully updating and this issue will become a thing of the past.
