Hi,
I can't seem to download the files from

http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N800.php

Is there any other way of getting the latest firmware for N800?

I got a copy of it sitting on a drive here, but i am unsure of the legality of uploading it somewhere.

Isn't the image supposed to be GPL?

And does anybody know what's up with the nokia site? Is it discontinued or is there some temporary error?

The download is still available, probably it's just the php script that's acting up.
I tried to send you a PM with a link but it seems you cannot receive PMs.

The bouncer script on the website is buggered and has been for a while. Try a different browser, some don't get too confused by the duplicate & conflicting headers.

Now that you downloaded it, for future reference copy the download link (under http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N800/downloads), it will work without the need to use the php page.
And if you are able to calculate 2+2, there's a file there called MD5SUMS.

Sorry to necro such an old thread, but I figured I might as well post here since it's still relevant.

I'm having trouble finding/downloading the N800 OS and I'm getting a similar error message. I've tried both chrome and IE with no luck.

Is there any other way I can get the N800 OS? Also, is it OS 2008 that I most likely want? I don't know anything about N800 firmware -- just got an old one from work and want to start using it (but it's got a proprietary firmware currently installed).

Thank you very much -- I hadn't tried that link for some reason.

As far as which firmware, I'm assuming that Diablo is the most recent/updated?

And one more thing -- this is obviously a pretty old device at this point but still fairly cool -- what (if anything) can I do with it?

A ton of stuff ...and way super cool....pretty old is relative BTW. I love these devices and still use all of mine daily.

this seems to be the latest n800 f/w.
i found a link in some site a while back. will post back if i find it again.

You need to post at least 10 times in the forums before you can private message then... enable private messaging. Best alternative.....I or someone else will help with those critical issues you need resolving...... The site is down. There are no mirrors.

The current issue with tablets-dev (which I foolishly... after migration ...thought was resolved) is an old issue with Nokia...that started pre-migration.

Currently...
Unless it is Nokia providing the download of ANYTHING from tablets-dev. (esp for the n770/n800/n810/n900)....such as the flashers and the firmware... at this point WHOEVER hosts a new download link would be under threat of being pulled or shut down ....
...and the possibility of legal action can't be ruled out...
It is (now) illegal until some issues are sorted out with Nokia.

As I fathom it...There are 3 options here.

#1- Openly (and I personally think... very very foolishly) defy legal trademark and copyright putting your own, others...and possibly the community (as a whole... if there is implication) at risk (They (Nokia) do after all own the flashers and firmware. It is their's to do with whatever they want...up to and including taking access of it away from us.) by perpetually posting or hosting links here or elsewhere.

#2- Ask individuals for help....privately

#3- And/ Or... as others have pointed out....
Contact Nokia and ask them to please rehost what we need.
Enough voices may help to have an impact and resolve this.

Contacted Nokia support asking about the access to the flasher and firmware. They were not able to help. Official support line does not have access to these files - at least this is what they claim.

RX-34_DIABLO_5.2008.43-7_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin, RX-44_DIABLO_5.2008.43-7_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin and flasher-3.0-static available for download next up to 7 days.

Nokia has ramped down all support for Maemo devices in including N770, N800, N810 and N900. Any remaining liabilities will stay in Nokia while N9 support liabilities will likely move to Microsoft soon, unless they are able ramp down that too.

Edit: flasher 3.5 found from http://www.jedge.com/n810/flasher/ if someone still is looking for it.
