N9 PR 1.3 update stucks on 90%
 

Hi,

the update to PR1.3 hangs on 90% since over 90 minutes

Anyone else experienced this problem? Will get it through?

I had the same problem (stuck at 90%) for maybe 2 hours.. Then I rebooted my device and voila.. 100%.. Now I'm on pr 1.3, no problems so far.

Rebooted the device, Nokia logo appears

this happened 3 times, then appeared

Now it fails with advice I should use Nokia Software Updater.

UPDATE

Now it has booted correctly... showing PR 1.3

Wow amazing, it seems no one wants to give details what this Update has! Some please elaborate, some screenshots would be nice.

Twitter and Facebook apps are bricked now and cannot be reinstalled...

I had the exact same problem last time and I have the exact same problem now. My boyfriend fixed the files last time, so I'll probably bug him again about this. Really nasty issue that repeats every time. I might just reflash the phone..

Also having same exact problem.
This happened also on 1.2 update, had to take the phone to Nokia Care since it just didn't wake up anymore. The fun part is, Nokia wasn't even able to provide me an phone as a exchange due the repair (reflashing) time, since they didn't (still dont?) have micro-sim phones.

Now, updating to 1.3 got me stuck on 90%, rebooted after two hours. Some red text recovery messages poppin up. Phone didn't start for a while and complaint that it should be taken to the Nokia Care. After few tries it booted up.

Now, facebook & twitter are completely f'up. Cant re-install. I dont feel that all the necessary items got even installed...

Same problem, went into bootloop for a while, now it shows me the option to update to 1.3 still, although on the info screen it says it's1.3 already. Also facebook and Twitter are now broken.

I'm not at home ATM, so can't flash any time soon so if alternative fixes are out there I would appreciate.

Check also your software version, I think it's not what it should be.
Mine says: PR1.3 (30.2012.07-1_PR_001)

I also stalled at 90%, recovered fine, facebook works (i don't tweet)

Of note: my phone was in developer mode and I had the Fastern9 installed.

Does someone know how to flash the n9 on linux? Is there an OCF available for PR 1.3?

yea, i also got stuck at 90%, Phone says 1.3, both facebook and twitter crunked, although it just seems to be the launch icons, not the apps as they do still work in the background and can be accessed by tapping a post on the feeds screen...

After having waited 3 hours with a still 90% progress bar:

I pressed on Power button to switch off and waited.
After about 1 minute appeared a white Battery Icon simultaneously with the white led.
I waited again and after one or two minutes
appeared "Updated"

Then on Settings>Product Info, I can read :
Nokia N9
Meego 1.2 Harmattan
Version
PR1.3
(40.2012.21-3_PR_001)

I repeated these actions to be sure but I still have the same Product Infos

Everything seems to work fine and a little faster

Flashed my phone back to 1.2 and updated again and got 1.3 without any hiccups :)

So I reflashed via the NSU to PR1.2, but not had a PR1.3 update prompt yet...

The flasher is available by now (at least for my version of Harmattan). If you use NaviFirm Plus make sure you clear the local cache to see the new firmvare. I just upgraded my device with flasher, it took 2 minutes and everything is fine.

Same thing happened to me. It was stuck at 90% for hours. Then reboot, said failed/ Settings shows PR 1.3 but it's only at 30.... not 40.....

Facebook and Twitter icon also not working but I use Touch facebook so it's not a problem. I plug in my N9 to NSU, it says update available 1.2 GB :rolleyes:, that will take many hours considering the WIFI speed on my end. Updating thru NSU is more hassle as have to reinstall all the apps

After lots of hassle, in the end I reflashed the phone to 1.3 - now works OK but twitter will not connect. It shows trends but just says Unknown error. Try again later. Have gone through two terminal restarts to connect to Twitter but still will not work. Also Billboard does not work correctly.

Any ideas?

All quite disappointing and considering going back to 1.2!! which at least generally worked.

How come I receive the update notice on my phone and I do not see the firmware on Navifirm???

I've already cleared the cache but country variant UAE is not available on NaviFirm.

navifirm and the flasher is the most reliable way to go, just flash the firmware first, back up all emmc files, then flash it clean both emmc and firmware.

Hello everyone.

The 1.3 update arrived today in Switzerland and i was excited to install it on my shiny N9. Unfortunately my update also stopped at 91% and didn't move for over 1h. Thankfully i found this forum and thread and i just rebooted it by pushing the power button for some secs. After turning it back on, it said something like "Please wait while the install is being repaired." After some minutes of waiting, it thankfully turned out to work properly again. Also, my facebook icon is not broken, but i didn't check the twitter icon, since i don't use it. The settings show PR1.3 (40.2012.21-3.232.05.2_PR_232), but i haven't experienced important changes so far.

Thank you everyone for this great forum. I am sure that, since i love my N9 and i'm a bit of a "tech-freak", i will be back again here. Maybe not writing that much, but reading and learning from it.
