From the instructions in the link below, you should not be trying to open it with WinZip at all...

http://forum.nitdroid.com/index.php?topic=241.0

When you click on the down load link, windows should give you a pop-up asking you what would you like to do with this file... “open with... or save to location”? Just click on the save radio button and you are done. No need to open the file with winzip. :)

- run following commands in priveleged shell (devel-su):

edit:
Ah, I just saw, you are already using devel-su.
Can you show the output of
ls -l /sbin/preinit
I don't understand why root does not have the permissions
to overwrite preinit.

Its correct; no error there... Also you don't need to enter the md5sum there...

Re: sillyboot in winzip format. need help

I totally looked at this wrong, yes, it looks like you correctly extracted the evkey binary and preinit script.

What is your problem now?

--- edit ---

Okay, few questions to clear this up.

You are running in open mode, are you? When using sillyboot you are propably wanting to run Nitdroid which means you NEED to have Harmattan/Nitdroid kernel.
(other needs for sillyboot; you may want to have the pre-boot BackupMenu without Nitdroid but I think then you needed to customize your /sbin/preinit further...)

Inception is not enough here, and I am afraid you are not in open mode....
