Accuweather help!
 

Hi all,

before anyone goes into how accuweather sucks and how meecast is better...i've tried both and i like accuweather more. more importantly, this thread is not for people to tell me to go and download meecast, etc etc.

When i go into nokia store to download the "restore accuweather application" it will not download and pops up a message saying "Can't install - Unable to trace installation package dependencies"

Any suggestion on how to fix this? Thanks!

If you can open a terminal window, get root and try "apt-get install wxapp"

after downloading the file from Arie, it still shows the same message "Can't install - Unable to trace installation package dependencies"


any ideas?

Had the same problem after ota update to PR1.3 with accuweather.

Solved it with reinstalling firmware over Nokia Suite (firmware file includes all updated apps like store, maps, accuweather..)

I think the problem is that on store you still get v1.0.17 and not v1.0.19 from PR1.3

Glad it worked for you.
I must admit after updating to PR1.3 I immediately uninstalled Accuweather and got Meecast. But I am hearing positive comments about Accuweather; perhaps it should not be immediately discounted now?

Well at least the AccuWeather widget in feed screen seems to now work correctly. In PR1.2 and previous it stopped working after a while. In PR1.3 it hasn't done that to me, but displays the weather reliably.

But hey, MeeCast is great and open source. So support it! :)

I agree entirely!

But I have to admit the reason why I am tempted to try Accuweather is because I can't get Meecast to reliably show up on my feed homescreen. :rolleyes:

So, sadly, I am going to try Accuweather again. For now anyway.

After upgrading to PR1.3 I get a notification to update Accuweather. But it won't update giving an error message about not able to change existing dependencies. When I check Accuweather in Manage Applications it says ver. 1.0.17 on the apps list screen. When I click on it it says ver. 1.0.19 in the detail screen. Seems like a little labelling bug here. But Accuweather works correctly now instead of failing to update after coming out of airplane mode so I think I have the latest version. Is there any way to resolve this niggling version mismatch issue?

that's because you have “restore accuwather” installed, delete that, and you will be able to install

yes feed update works correctly now with accuweather.

tried also meecast for short time, looks great at all but couldn't give me proper forecast in my region.

so have to stay on accuweather, works fine now with mostly correct infos.:D

Thank you. I didn't even know I had "Restore Accuweather" in my app list. That fixed it.

I kept searching for my city in MeeCast. Couldn't find it. Surprisingly I found it in AccuWeather.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I can't find out how to delete a city in the list of locations in the app. Mine came with Helsinki and I can add other locations but I can't figure out how to delete. I just got my N9 a few days ago so I am really new to this.

Well over a year, and i sort of find my self facing this issue to. How the hell do you remove towns from this thing?
