[WARNING] Do not upgrade to PR1.3 over-the-air if you have a branded phone!

Once you do so, you won't be able to debrand your phone by flashing!

Instead, visit the flashing guide and flash your phone with an 001 variant firmware image. This will eliminate any "customizations" imposed by your mobile phone carrier.

This ist meant only for really operator branded devices or also for cv (country variants), like my swiss?

You talked about some way to degrade the phone. Can you post that here as well?

Man, it should probably be an unwritten rule everywhere by now that N9s, when reflashed, should get a 001 variant firmware when possible.

My 005 PR1.1 device couldn't see any updates when I got it, so I'm blaming it on region-dependent updates being bad for everyone.

Hi all,

Could any one can see a 001 variant firmware on NaviFirm+ ? I look up, look down, then put the 001 string to the filter box but still couldn't find the 001 variant for PR1.3

the french version has a vanilla 001 firmware if I'm not mistaken.

I put "Fr" into the filter box, then 4 variants come up as: 059J207, 059J1V6, 059K0Z0, and 059K1G8. No 001 !
Any other idea?

0597207, 059J1V6, 059K0Z0, 059K1G8 ALL have the 001 variants for France. Have you tried clearing the local cache of your Navifirm+ ??

If you still can't see it, reply here with your N9's color and memory size. I will post the direct link for your firmware and EMMC.

Well all the four product codes that you have quoted are PR_LEGACY 001!!! So what are you looking at to think that these 4 are not 001?

Edit: Beaten to it...

Re: [WARNING] Do not upgrade to PR1.3 over-the-air if you have a branded phone!

The variant number is different from the firmware number. The variant number lists a set of files. In this set of files, one file is the firmware. Its name should contain "001".
Idealy, pick the variant number that corresponds to your phone (color + memory size)

Re: [WARNING] Do not upgrade to PR1.3 over-the-air if you have a branded phone!

Thanks for all that. So I was looking for the variant code which I thought it was 001 firmware, now I know I have to look into the actual file name.

Re: [WARNING] Do not upgrade to PR1.3 over-the-air if you have a branded phone!

So the ideal file to download should be "DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958_ARM.bin" with any variants number, am I correct?

Re: [WARNING] Do not upgrade to PR1.3 over-the-air if you have a branded phone!

If I got a N9 Australia Vodafone version, then I flash the "DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_005-OEM1-958_ARM.bin". 005 which is for Asia/Pacific (incl. Australia/New Zealand, excl. China). Is that firmware will de-branded the Vodafone phone or still stick with the Vodafone firmware?
Another dump question coz first time to use flasher. Thanks heap !

Had I seen this earlier, I would have suggested you opted for the 001 variants...

Too late, you can do it when PR1.4 comes (who knows when)....

Well we had suggested to flash to 001 variants but he chose to flash the 005 variants...after all they don't make much difference...if someone feels better with a known variant they should flash to that ;)

Re: [WARNING] Do not upgrade to PR1.3 over-the-air if you have a branded phone!

Hi all,

I pick the 005 because I thought it is for Australia/Asian Market. Well, anyway, the flash gone well.
Then after that, I went through the restoring contact and stuff by using the built-in restore backup. It looked good, everything back. But then when I copied the photos from computer to the phone, it didn't show up in the Gallery.
I thought something went wrong, then I hard-reset the phone.
OK, after hard-reset it, it reboot and stuck in the white circle thing. Couldn't get over it.
Then I flash it again, flasher said success, just like normal. But after the flash -R, it restarted BUT STILL STUCK at the circle thing.
Have anyone can guide me what I should do now to get the phone back to life??? Thanks you very much !!!
