N9 - 'Nothing open yet' file location?

Because of the wallpapers I'm using the 'Nothing open yet' text is hard to read on my screen.

I simply want to alter the font colour if someone could direct me to the relevant file.

Thanks.

Kinda the same topic..

Is it also possible to edit the text to something else? ;)

I can't see why not...

Once I know which file and take a look then I'll be able to tell.

Code:

/usr/share/themes/base/meegotouch/meegotouchhome/style/meegotouchhome.css
MLabelStyle#SwipeSwitcherEmptyState

I was just thinking it would be cool to change the text somehow!

Re: N9 - 'Nothing open yet' file location?

No problem changing the colour.

But also no luck as yet finding the particular text.

Been through a ton of files but still can't find reference to 'Nothing open yet' text.

Anyone...?

Re: N9 - 'Nothing open yet' file location?

/usr/share/l10n/meegotouch/home_en.qm

Re: N9 - 'Nothing open yet' file location?

I am pretty sure those texts are in the locale files.
There was a similar request for changing the
"I will call you later" text for the reject call message.
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=80587

you have to find the appropriate locale file
in /usr/share/l10n/meegotouch directory.
Copy the file to your desktop and use qt linguist to
open and change the text.
(But I don't know in which, if at all, file you'll find
the text).

I'm attaching an archive with three folders: Original file, Blank text file and Multi-task me!! file

You can extract and replace at /usr/share/l10n/meegotouch/

Nice work out there. I've been wanting to blank out that screen too. Thank you!

Wonder if someone can make a little app to customize this. Anyone up for it? ;)

Might want to contact Schturman (of N9 Quick Tweak), maybe he can add this. :)

Re: N9 - 'Nothing open yet' file location?

well this is a bit harder to add to n9qtweak AFAIK as its dependent on your language settings; English has English and English (US) so we don't want people screwing up their devices and blaming n9qtweak...

Awesome thread, thanks to everybody for chipping in.

Realky nice to be free of that txt on the multitask screen, as I wouldn't know when nothing is open o.O

Regards Dousan...

FYI, if you want it to just be "Open Something?" you can fill the balance space with ". ." meaning one dot then space then another dot...

Re: N9 - 'Nothing open yet' file location?

No, I mean have the whole screen not show, not just the text...

thedead1440 2012-08-04 03:32

Re: N9 - 'Nothing open yet' file location?

IIRC that was asked before and it was said to be not possible but i think there should be a way to disable it...

the problem i anticipate with the screen disappearing is everytime you open an app, the screen needs to load and close if you closed the last app leading to higher processor usage and battery drain, both of which are already problems...

By the way, some pointers:

1. Restart/reboot after overwriting the file.
2. Rename the file accordingly. For example:

- you have set your language to English (United States) in "Settings->Time and language", then you need to rename the file to "home_en_US.qm".
- you have set your language to English (as in English, not English United States), then the filename is simply "home_en.qm".

Re: N9 - 'Nothing open yet' file location?

Using QT Linguist gives me a 'Blank not readable' error on all files.
Any ideas?
