Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
I own a n900 ( which I love ) but would like to buy a N9. Cant buy them in a shop here in the states, only option is online.
So my question is, which of you have bought an N9 64gb online, and the phone was original, not some fake from china? Any recommended websites, or amazon/ebay sellers ? Where not to buy from ? Dont mind paying a bit more, just want to be sure its legit :) Thanks in advance. |

Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
Is this the real Lumiaman or a fake one? What makes me suspicious is he occasionally makes sense now...

Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
So, whats the different between Finland and China made?
It's all subjective, i was owned 2 Nokia N8, one is Finland and one is China, nothing's different concerning about the build material, it's all same! The difference just the SW itself, Euro is always better than APAC. And from now, there'll be no more Finland made, though i much be happier if my N9 is Finland made, which it is. I think enough saying about where's a Nokia device is made, whether its Finland, Romania, Mexico, China, Vietnam, Korea, as long as it passed the QC, i'm sure it's OK. |
Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
I just dont want it to be worse quality wise, as in parts breaking, paint chipping off, etc.

My N9, Finland, Break the USB door, twice. Gorilla glass without protection, scratches. (reason: dont want to lose that nice swipe feeling) Just playing around with some files, bootloop :P So, it's not depend on what country your N9 is made, but it's how you treat your N9 after you buy it. |
Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
I live in the States and got mine from Expansys usa when they first came out as they had the best price. Don't know if they still sell for a decent price, but my phone arrived earlier than the expected date they gave me and they were excellent about keeping me updated when the phone finally shipped. No problems yet and had my phone since November last year. Hope this helps.

Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
My made in finland white is inferior to cyan china. The side buttons feel better on the Chinese. There is a reason manufacturing is moving to china. And all the superb quality iPhones are made there.

Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
I got mine from GSM Imports on Amazon in January and got an Asia N9. It's been flawless, the purchase and shipping were typically Amazon hassle-free and painless.

Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
Looks like you're obvious in confusing to buy N9 or N900. :D

Would like to buy the N9, and another n900 as a backup to my current one just in case mine gets struck by lighting or something else horrible :P |
Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
My N900 is terribly damaged and I can't use it anymore.
I had a Samsung Galaxy S2 for 5 months and now I always get reboots when I do simple tasks like music, games etc. The USB is damaged too so it wont boot up sometimes. The Galaxy S2 is cheap plastic, I will never buy a samsung phone again! Should I buy a Lumia 900 or N9 but I like Maemo/Meego OS more. Because a new N900 is almost impossible to get, I am thinking of buying a new unused Nokia N9 with country of origin finland. Not sure if the A1 store in my environment still has a N9. |
Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
I'd say go for an N9. I tried out the Lumia in some stores and it just wasn't for me. I may be biased though. You can also get a used N900 as a backup phone, they're being sold online dirt cheap.

Do you know how do distinguish a finland N9 from an chinese N9. I don't want a cheap replica. I also don't know where to buy a unused n900. |
Re: Buying a Nokia N9 online ?
If I buy it from Amazon is it made in china or finland?
How many differences are there between finland/china? |

As for the paint chipping, well we have a huge thread for that. The polycarbonate body on the black n9 has a lacquered coating which chips away. You may say it would be best to it in the silicon case but then the coating will develop some weird sweat marks. Both Finish and Chinese models are reported to do this, they are the same. |
