Gallery not refreshing
 
i have this weird problem, i cant see newly transferred photos in my gallery, and before anyone bursts up
i tried whatever i found in search
resetting, flashing.
nothing solved the problem.

hahaha, no it was meteor shower tonight and i was watching it all night with my little niece (she's sleeping for few hours and i hope she will remain like that till rest of the day so i can actually do some work :D)

also there are two .jpg files in /home/user/

transfer them elsewhere and delete from /home/user/

try a reboot then again cat /home/user/.config/user-dirs.dirs

now lets try one experiment before we remove everything with "tracker-control -r" ok?
Alee, can you take some test photo that will initiate tracker to refresh and see if there will be any / new photos, if not, do backup of contacts and messages

The problem's still not solved for me. It does display new videos and new photos taken with the built-in camera, but only some old photos are displayed (not all, and I don't know what makes the difference between those that are displayed and those that are not, as they're all in /home/user/MyDocs/DCIM/).

I have no *.jpg or *.png or any other image file in /home/user/. I ran gallerybugx and rebooted, but the problem is still the same. What is weird is that at first I did a tracker-control -r and it did not solve the issue (although it did remove the contacts :D). Any idea?

After the .deb file is installed, open the terminal and just type "gallerybugx".

Hi there, just wanted to chime in and say Thanks! The Nokia Panorama app wasn't loading to the gallery as it used to and after following these steps, it does. Very happy and Thanks again.:)

same problem here, and I could not solve the problem with any of the above tips sitadas. Only show new photos taken by the camera. Images placed in DCMI or pictures are not updated in the gallery. Any other solution? : (

i have the solution for this, i ran into the same problem
all you have to do is copy all your photos/videos to your computer and delete them all from device.
now move the photos/videos back to device, they will show up.

The issue is tracker isn't picking up your pictures.. we need to figure out why, then we can solve it.

Edit:

cd to /home/user/.local/share/tracker

cp the .logs to mydocs, and open them and screenshot them for me... one of them has errors.

I finally managed to fix the problem by doing what Alee indicated on the previous page. I created a backup on my laptop (DCIM and Pictures), then disconnected the N9, deleted all content within the Gallery application, reconnected it to the laptop and deleted the DCIM and Pictures on the N9, rebooted, pasted the backups on the N9, rebooted, still nothing in the Gallery, so I ran gallerybugx in terminal and rebooted again, and voilą!

I'm sure some steps were unnecessary here, but at the end of the day it worked and did not cost much time. Thanks a lot to all of you. :)

It is worth mentioning that before I deleted the folders on the N9 and restored them back, none of the tracker-control -r, tracker-control -e and gallerybugx methods worked. Isn't it stupid? :]

that's what we was talking about "stupid/idiotic" bugs in harmattan....
same as /usr/bin/stupidsearch...tracker is also a cripple

I just had to register to thank you guys!

The gallery not loading/refreshing has been bugging me for weeks so I tried out the gallerybugx for 3 pics I downloaded off google in my PICTURES folder, it worked, added 800 photos to DCIM and ran gallerybugx again and BOOM! all my photos are back where they belong.

The N9 once again is the best phone about 15 Months on :)
