Great! really neat and beautiful.

Re: [Announce] Faenza for N9

That's pretty, my question has been this; for all the themes, do they work with N9Qtweak? It says that it only works with the default theme. What breaks if you use another one?

Can i change the background ? With homescreen settings? Safe?

Re: [Announce] Faenza for N9

This theme works well with N9Qtweak, but have not tested with the homescreen settings... background images sewn into the theme!

Re: [Announce] Faenza for N9

The icons are great! Thanks.

Dumb questions: what exactly is changed by a theme? If I only want to use the icons, how should I proceed? I don't want to change the background (well, I think I don't, but it is worth a try) and I don't want to change the status bar, as I already customized it to my taste using N9QT.

1 Attachment(s)
Nice theme, althougn some icons doesn't have the right icon if you ask me, like the Store icon (looks more like a 'currency converter app' icon)

For the ones that wants to change the background (using Home screen settings) download the attachment to your MyDocs and go to the terminal:

Code:

-  devel-su
-  (default pass: rootme)
-  mv /home/user/MyDocs/meegotouchhome.css.txt /usr/share/themes/faenza/meegotouch/meegotouchhome/style/meegotouchhome.css

Reboot the device and it should be done :)

Re: [Announce] Faenza for N9

How WEIRD is this?

So I install the theme. Reboot as it says, and tested the camera right away, since there was a complaint about it not working.

It worked fine. So I thought, okay cool, let's see what else.

Well, SimpleText's icon turned into a red square. I thought that was odd, but it still launched, so meh.

Then I had forgotten that I had set a icon for romaxa's Fennec page. So clicked on that, but the N9 browser wouldn't connect. It wouldn't connect to ANYTHING.

Well I have a proxy set up with adzapper, so I figured that it was that. Nope, still nothing. Since it was working fine before the theme, I decided to test another theme (apparently I had Magenta installed at one point, not sure from where) and tried that out. Same thing...

Disabled the proxy, nothing. Fennec worked, but the N9 browser did not.

Finally I went back to Blanco.

Still NO browsing with the default browser.

Finally I turned the phone off, then back on. Now it's working again (with proxy set up.)

So I have no idea why doing a hard reboot rather than a soft one would affect such a thing, or even why a theme would affect it at all anyhow.

Hmm, actually maybe I know. I wonder if ProfileMatic did it. Or lack of.

See, I have Profilematic change out my resolv.conf so that internally all my domain names will route correctly. Since that's how the proxy is configured...

Guess I should have a word with the creator of that and see if there are any weird issues with a soft reset as opposed to a hardware one.

Re: [Announce] Faenza for N9

slaapliedje, the theme should not have the above effects...After all when you apply the theme using theme settings app a reboot is done so what do you mean by hard and soft reset done? Did you use theme changer instead?

As Vesuri had told me earlier, its best to do a reboot upon choosing a new theme even though it may work without a reboot...

Profilematic might/might not be the cause...yeah check it out with ajalkane...

Re: [Announce] Faenza for N9

What I mean is that after using the Theme Settings that is posted in the first post of this thread, it did not work when it had told me my phone needed to be restarted to activate the new theme.

I had to hold down the power button, wait 'til it had started it's shut down sequence. When it was completely off, held down the power button again 'til it vibrated and booted up.

(The difference between a full shut down on a PC, rather than just doing a reboot. Sometimes it clears out weird things that get caught up in memory. Not very common on newer PCs, but happened all the time on older ones.)

That is weird... I have 15different themes on my phone and using the app's restart method changes the theme without any issues...

Could you try to replicate this again?

Re: [Announce] Faenza for N9

Hello guys! May I ask, how do you change the backgound? I am using N9 QTweak, so I am not using Home Screen Settings (for PDF says using it might cause a reboot loop), so I cannot change the background using the app. Tried changing it from QTweak, it did not change. Any other ways on how to change the background? Thanks! :)

Re: [Announce] Faenza for N9

You can use Home Screen Settings without issue as long as you don't do the same things using N9QTweak that you can do with Home Screen Settings... I use it here without any issues and there are 100s of users like me so don't worry ;)

Code:

/usr/share/themes/faenza/meegotouch/icons/
look thru' the folder and just put in the icons for apps you want...a reboot will load those icons...or a full refresh using the n9qtweak refresh button should do the trick too...

Nope look thru' the folder see how the icons of apps are named use the same template...by default all app icons are stored in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/80x80/apps/

so take the name of the default icon from there and follow the naming convention the in the faenza theme folder and put your image...Do it once or twice and you'll be good at it ;)

But in this theme there aren't power save mode icons!! I always use the phone in that mode :D

What if I'll use the default app icons, but I will use the statusbar of this theme. In my opinion, the statusbar of this theme is better than Blanco! I love the colors! :)

I'm kinda lost here. I followed the same naming convention of the app icon found on /usr/share/icons/hicolor/80x80/apps/ and placed it in /usr/share/themes/faenza/meegotouch/icons/. After reboot, the icons are still not changed. Help please. :)

Try naming the image you put in ~/faenze/meegotouch/icons to the same naming convention as other app icons in this folder or follow th name that was in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/80x80/apps/

Tried adding icon-l- to the filename, after reboot, still does not work. Following the name found in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/80x80/apps/ also does not work. :|
