Hi folks! :)

• I was (somehow) a beginner at the coding competition 2010 and won the 4th place in the Multimedia Category.

• At the coding competition 2011 I participated with several of my projects and won a 2nd place and some money from the bounty pot.

I'm currently very, very short of time :( and in my opinion I won already enought the past years. But somehow I had the whole summer a post by kojacker in my mind:
So I decided to participate with at least a single application. But since I'm short of time and because of the lack of a good (fast viable) Idea I created:

It is called WP WPx emulator. Some of you will love it, some of you will hate it. I'm convinced.

But in the end I'm still not sure what W P stands for. Perhaps Worst Project. I'm not sure. ;) The x was added because google was able to find a very similar app from someone else...

I'm absolutly sure it is just a joke app. Something like my N900-x-ray for the Nokia N900. A parody, satire, a persiflage, even if I wouldn't call myself a modern comedian. Perhaps it is art and I'm a new kind of modern artist? Decide yourself. :)

Maybe this app would have been enough to convince Elop that the N9 was a Windoze Phone, and he would not have sabotaged it.

I used 4 simple squares instead of a Windows Logo for the application icon to avoid to get sued...

I submitted my small persiflage app to the nokia ovi store. Sadly it was rejected because I linked to this thread as support page.

The rejection reason was:
So I guess it was only rejected because I had a download link for the debian file in my first post and everything else was fine. :confused:
I'm sorry. But I will now remove the attachment from the first post. Perhaps it will pass the QA this time and you are able to download the (now) WPx emulator next week from the official store. :D

Huh, never heard of it before... but sounds like a good game. :)

I hope it won't get removed during the voting of the coding competition...

I created it to the best of one's knowledge and belief. It doesn't hurt anyone, it has no tiles (have you ever seen tiles with rounded corners?), it doesn't infringe any trademark, all icons, pictures and buttons are made by myself and it is finally only released at a very small group of devices outside of the main market of the product which gets emulated. So there is no chance to confuse (just like the reason why the N9 was not released) anyone with this app since only N9 users in small markets outside of where the stuff is going on are able to use it. ;)

Soon you make a N900 version,dont forget to check the downloading stats again,its not that the windows style is sexy but it is actually to show the power of being open source N900.That the N900 can do things which probably no one else can never do ( speaking of technical terms ).I hope you gonna make it soon once you done with the coding competition ( fingers crossed ).good luck.

After about 1 hour porting and 6 hours packaging with a lot of pain and issues WPx Emulator finally hit extra-devel for the Nokia N900.

It is a bit slow compared to the N9 version... but the main features are working. Or the main feature? I'm not sure... Enjoy! :)
