[Request] A Mod to change N9's Keyboard
 

Hello guys,
I personally think that the keyboard design of the N9 is not nice, it needs a new one, I have tried F2thaK's FDB theme, but it only changes the color of the keyboard, I want a keyboard like SwiftKey 3 Keyboard on NITDroid but a free one, please someone try to develop a mod/app for this, I don't want to push on anyone, I know that some people will find this useless, if no one can do it, it's alright, I am just sharing my opinion here :)

No it's not easy to work with, I'm a fast typer and the layout just isn't nice, the letters are just too close to each other, if you notice SwiftKey 3 Keyboard on NITDroid, it's just awesome, I just hope someone develops something similar to it with an auto-correction setting...

I want themed keyboard as well. The standard one is not very nice looking but it is the most comfortable virtual keyboard I have ever used.

I don't want to use swipe as I never swype to type! And it doesn't have the haptic feedback of the original keyboard which I can't be without after using it.

So yeah. A clean theme for our keyboard would be super!

I (think) Ive added some haptic feedback to the Swype VKB... When I have time I will try to add more.

I have been hoping there is an easy way to just replace the stock keyboard images but I believe there isn't one as far as I know. Basically it's just the background of the keys that would need to be changed. I assume there's just three images or something for all the keys.

It has always had haptic feedback as far as I know. Just not the comfortable double haptic feedback of the original keyboard. In your theme it has the single haptic feedback it always had for me.

AMD common you've to start learning stuff too instead of asking people to do everything for you and that too for free....

Spend sometime to get to the contents of F2thak's theme find the keyboard mod files and work on them by copying them to standard blanco theme...

You may be a beginner like you always say but you are not an idiot that cant learn, right?

Lol, yeah my dad think these are useless stuff that I care about, for a million years he wont think of doing that :P He is a Boss, he barely cares about my phone, he just cares about his iPhone :P

Although.... I have a backup plan, the incredible wook_sf is going to release a very nice theme which is very cool, until he releases it, he will change the keyboard colors afaik and I will download it hopefully :)

No! The point is that I want another design of the keyboard! For example if you look in Play Store in NITDroid/Android and search for "SwiftKey 3 Keyboard" This one is just perfect! I can type on it extremely fast and it feels very comfortable as well as the letters, they are well separated apart and they have very nice themes :D

Your only option is to pay SwiftKey lots of money to make a keyboard for the N9. (They would need ALOT of money)

Or

Use an android device or NITdroid

BigKeyboard is a COMPLETE redeisn :p

TBH once you get used to it its really nice to type on, takes a few days though and a lot of typos :p

I already use NITDroid, but mostly MeeGo :P I mean look at both, MeeGo is way nicer :)

How about a light version of current keyboard base on pop up context menu colors?

Light-gray background, white button for characters and slightly darker for other buttons with black text.

You know what, if a diff. color of the keyboard and disabling the vibration of the keyboard is done, it would be perfect, I don't want to go to settings, and put silent mode then turn the volume down to make the keyboard good!
