wow.. hope your USB port is not broken from the N9. Try gentle push it different way, hope it will get connection. Hope you have warranty left and they are willing to fix it.. I hope this is something else..

Re: N9(Firmware) is dead, can anybody help me ? :(

Did you try flasher -c -F ImageName.bin -f -R?
Run the command then plug your device in while it is turned off.

chico 2012-08-26 10:49

Re: N9(Firmware) is dead, can anybody help me ? :(

Yes i try it but it says "no such file or directory" :(

Re: N9(Firmware) is dead, can anybody help me ? :(

What you can also try is to rename the image to someting like pr1.3.bin to make sure there is no typing error. Then cd to the directory containing the Image as root. then run the command or run the command with the fullpath to the Image eg:
~#: flasher -c -F /home/user/Desktop/pr1.3.bin -f -R

Do you use Windows?

Install flasher from http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-d....12.1_i386.deb (32-bit) or http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-d...12.1_amd64.deb (64-bit)

Then open cmd.exe as Administrator
type the following:
Code:

cd C:\Program Files\Nokia\Flasher
Download your FW image from Navifirm and rename it to rootfs.bin as well as copy it to c:\program files\nokia\flasher\

Now type in the same cmd.exe window as earlier:

Code:

flasher -f -F rootfs.bin -R
Done...

Re: N9(Firmware) is dead, can anybody help me ? :(

When in your terminal type the command: su
if it asks for a password type in your login password and enter. then the # symbol should show at the begin of your line.
Or you could install "sudo" by using your app manager or type the line "apt-get -f install sudo" in your terminal and it should install.
Then you can type: sudo flasher -c -F ImageFile.bin -f -R or sudo flasher -c -F /Path/To/ImageFile.bin -f -R.
If nothing els works you may download a differant image from navifirm like the MEA4 that i'm using, because your image might be corupt. And try to flash it with the new Image. I recommend you copy the download link from navifirm to clipboard and use a different app to download the image like "wget in your terminal. e.g: wget /link/from/navifirm. Or you can download it with your browser by pasting the link there. I hope this helps

1 Attachment(s)
oh god you really are bad at things...user error = /= system error!

I've posted a guide for you to follow and if you search you can understand but...

anyway even if you need the ethernet/rndis driver just be connected to the internet when plugging in the n9, windows update auto-installs it...If it doesn't grab from windows update then just download from the attached...

Re: N9(Firmware) is dead, can anybody help me ? :(

O ok,I also use Windows 7 x64. Windows Vista in quite problematic when it comes to flashing and such due to driver incompatabillity. But what you should do to flash on Windows is to install the flasher.
The image must be in the flasher install folder otherwise it doesent work. the default install path is C:\program files/nokia/flasher,paste the Image in that folder.
Then go to your start menu to the flasher,right-click and say run as administrator,if the command prompt doesn't start to the flasher path,cd to the flasher folder.
run dir to make sure you see the image.bin file. The flasher doesn't see the image if you are not cd to the flasher folder.
Run flasher -c -F ImageName.bin -f -R and then connect your device.
Hope this works.
Well in the beginning I thought so to,I had the N900 before my N9 and the N900 is super, the firmware is much more bendable than the N9 but its slowly getting better,I can alreade run Easy-Debian,Dosbox and all that and always testing new software so I'm flashing my phone almost every week LOL

Re: N9(Firmware) is dead, can anybody help me ? :(

I just managed to open the image you added and what you can also try is the above but with this command: flasher -F ImageName.bin --flash-only=rootfs -f -R

Re: N9(Firmware) is dead, can anybody help me ? :(

Hello, i also have a swiss 16Gb n9 and i updated it from PR1.2 swiss (ARM 232) variant firmware to PR1.3 central europe firmware (001).

So you can use other firmware yes. But be aware that, it will not flash a firmware version below the one you already have on the phone. (this means that if you already have the PR1.3 swiss variant, you cannot change anymore and have to use the same)

And i would advice to not install the chinese one or russian or something with special alphabet or software restriction (asian version is missing some software and services coz of internet freedom).

But, i checked the picture of your phone and would say that you should return it to NOKIA for repair, because it seems it has taken a serious chock.

EDIT: A link for a great N9 flashing guide: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82693
