Lost and Found my precious N9
 

Hi All,
Thought this would be nice sharing.
this incident happened when i was going home from my workplace.
I was listening songs with earphones plugged. i got on to a local bus at the bus bay but as soon as i got into the bus the music stopeed. I checked my pockets and was shocked to see my N9 missing!!
I immediately got down the bus and suspected a guy. he showed me some other direction and told that the guy who stole my N9 was running that way. I suspected and saw this guy again, he started running.
I chased him like hell, but missed him. Then a taxi driver called me and showed me the direction in which the theif went. A person going in that direction gave me a lift, so i continued my chase. After some time i saw a guy wearing the same shirt and asked the biker to slow the bike and as soon as i neared him i got hold of his shirt. That guy saw me frightened threw my phone on the ground and ran away. I didnt chase that guy again caz i was having a severe pain in my leg. Finally I got my phone.

While searching for that guy, i took another fone and called my mobile, it was ringing but no one answered the call.
Later i understood that, the theif didnt know how to swipe to anwser the call, nor didnt know how to swtich off the phone, nor remove the sim card. I thank nokia for inventing such a safe
design :D.

All the theif could manage was making a scratch on my screen. which is kind of visible :( but bearable. :)

P.S. You might find my post little unrealistic, but this is 100% true.

Once again thank you Nokia for such an innovative design and OS as well :D

haha I can only expect such stuff to happen in Hyderabad :P

Nice to hear that you have your phone back.
Didn't you had any screen protector on it?

Next time, if you didn't done it before:
don't forget to activate the "Track & Protect" :)

Wow, my heart was actually beating fast with this story, glad you got your phone back, and yes, just like HtheB said, next time activate Track & Protect, it will make your life easier with finding that phone, and keep your N9 in your hands next time so you make sure it won't happen ;)

Me, I created a jpeg/png file as start up image with my name, address, my other mobile number, and my wife's mobile number also. So, I always see it every time I reboot my N9, :)

Don't know if it's innovative that people can't figure out easily to answer a call or unlock the phone :)

But I'm happy to hear it ended well for you

I love the swipe to unlock.. It's so unique when people grab my N9 to play with it, they can't figure out how to get past the unlock screen... Don't even need a passcode with it ... (but I do) ..

Haha, true! If my sister and brother didn't know that my phone was swipe, they wouldn't figure out how to unlock it! :)

It s funny indeed but also risky. Ok, Nokia didn't choose to throw the N9 on the german market. But a big local electronic store had one N9 to sell.
I often prowled around this device, to get my hands on it from time to time before buying it. But when i watched other people laying their hands on this device, it was always the same picture: they lost interest after a couple of seconds, because they couldn't get past the lockscreen and well, it seems that most human minds loose their will to explore something when it get s "difficult" right from the start ^^

I think, that simple obstacles like this can seriously affect sales numbers, just because it s not the most obvious way to handle a cell phone and people are lazy and want out-of-the-box intuitive stuff when comming to electronics ;)

I guess once u know how to swipe to unlock, its a piece of cake even for a 13 year old @AMD!!
