[wip] Boot up progress spinner color change.
 

As the tittle says we (wook_sf, thedaed1440 and me ) are trying to change the color of the progress spinner (in white) you see right after the boot up vid.

We have talked about it in this thread (Show your MeeGo/Harmattan screenshots - #164 and forward), but as it showed to be more tricky than first thought I've started this thread to not flod the other thread with to much off topic.

To make it short the progress spinner is made of 4 pics in .pvr extension wich needs to be converted to. bmp's and then changed in gimp/photoshop after ones liking and then recompressed back to .pvr's.

The thing is when altered it wont show in the boot up process and I'm not sure if needs to be 32 or 24 bit .bmp's when converting from .pvr files.

I have compressed them the same way the original file is compressed.

It might be that it's connected to the refhashlist somehow and needs to be changed there aswell.

There's also a in /usr/bin/MProgressIndicator wich is some kind of hex file (I'm no techie).

To convert .pvr's to bmp's you'll need a tool called:

Just an update to this thread:

I've sold my N9 as I just didn't enjoy modding etc. anymore as i used to. Before I thought it was time well spend and now it's more like time wasted that I could've spent on other creative stuff.
I've turned into a end user along the way with this device who just want's things to work out of the box and a casual game here and there.

So this project has stopped for me and I didn't get any closer than when I started this thread.

Feel free to continue, everything you'll need to do so is in the first post. Wook_sf or thedead1440 might be helpfull if you contact them.

I also sold my maemo device. No more N900 and N9 ;)

I did truly enjoy the maemo/meego experience uptill recently, but to keep a device just for old time sakes that's not me, I'd rather someone who cares about devices like this should use them and enjoy there power and beauty.

Will mis the swipe experience and UX/UI and the simple but very usefull maemo UX/UI in furture devices, though not enough to keep them. I'd rather have functionality that suites me than keeping the two devices for their UX/UI linux part wich I really don't use anymore.

They where, mostly N900, a once in a lifetime experience, cool, fun, beautyful, but as everything else (excluding eternity) all comes to an end and better stop while fun or before tiresome than when past that ;)

I accidentally deleted themes_opengl_nokiabg_gray.pvr from /usr/share/MProgressIndicator/themes/opengl
Can anyone upload the original file?

I was trying to change only the themes_opengl_nokiabg_gray.pvr to a plain nokia logo on black background (like the first logo you see when you boot). Tried to do it on the pvr editor changing the texture but no luck, when I booted it didnt show.

Is it discontinued? Or still work in progress?
