Do you have the same maemo version as when you did the backup?

Example:- If you have PR 1.3.1 and you backed up with CSSU this will happen.

You may want to try flashing with different usb ports/cable or even a different OS on your PC, btw does your N900 usb port fine ?

Re: Need a life for dead device

How to get N900 flasher to work in Windows 7 64-bit (x64).

Install Flasher 3.5 - http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-d...-downloads.php
Download libusb-win32-bin-1.2.2.0.zip - http://sourceforge.net/projects/libusb-win32/
Open N900 Keyboard
Press U while connecting the USB cable to your N900
Wait for the original driver to install.
Run inf-wizard.exe (bin folder in zip) - Run as Administrator

Press "Next"
Search in list and select "0x0421 - 0x0105 - Nokia N900 (Update Mode)"
Press "Next"
Press "Next"
Save .inf file
Press "Install Now"
Press "Install this driver software anyway" on warning message.
You should get "Installation successful." and press OK.

Check Windows Device Manager for "libusb-win32 devices", expand and verify "Nokia N900 (Update Mode)" can be found.
Now you are ready to run Flasher 3.5 with your parameters.

DON'T FORGET TO LOAD THE INF-WIZARD AS ADMIN!

Re: Need a life for dead device otherwise am goig to die

Try the following.

Step 1: Use Windows XP. Do NOT use Windows 7.
Step 2: Download flasher-3.5 for winxp here.
Step 3: Download PR1.3 firmware for the N900 from here. Save the file to: %ProgramFiles%\maemo\flasher-3.5\ (the default installation path of fasher-3.5).
Step 4: Press Start, choose Run and type in 'cmd' without quotes.
Step 5: Run flasher by using the command flasher-3.5.exe -F FirmwareNAME.bin -f -R. Replace the name with the name of the file downloaded. Please make sure N900 is not yet plugged in. The command prompt should say something like 'Suitable device not found... waiting...'
Step 6: If you have Nokia Suite or anything else, kindly close it. The N900 should be switched off. Plug it in using a USB cable while pressing 'u' on the N900's keyboard. The command prompt should start the flashing process. If it doesn't start try booting the N900 while holding 'u'.

Re: Need a life for dead device otherwise am goig to die

I've had this kind of problem restoring a same-device backup as well.
Fixed by flashing just the kernel.
If you have issues with flasher not recognizing the n900, use a linux computer. Lots of problems I've had trying to flash from windows. If you can't find a linux computer just use a live CD on yours.

Are you sure you downloaded the right architecture; 32 or 64-bit?

You have downloaded a 32-bit flasher...

Also it could be your file is corrupted...Re-download it and try...

qwazix 2012-10-29 15:07

Re: Need a life for dead device otherwise am goig to die

I don't think there is an 64bit flasher for the N900 unless the harmattan one works on the N900 too. You have to download the tar.gz and use the binary if you have 64-bit linux. (And sometimes you need to add some i386 usb libraries too)

sunyakram 2012-10-29 15:10

Re: Need a life for dead device otherwise am goig to die

thankyou thedead i install 64bit flasher and when i open xterminal and put this command
sudo flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

x term say me
(sudo) password for sunny:

and all keyboard buttons are stop working

sunny is my pc name

no they haven't stopped working!

I just understood what you mean!

Password won't appear on-screen but they keypresses are registered...Just type your password and press enter and you'll see it works...
