Memory problems n900 (Read Only file)
Hello.
* My memory has been corrupted. I do not to format want it. Has many bad sectors Deterioration mmcblk0p2:( The only way to re-partition my drive. Is there a way to replace the partition? |
Re: Memory problems n900 (Read Only file)
You should not need to repartition just yet - check the file system. There are quite a few threads on TMO and possibly some mention in the Wiki. Essentially, you first "unmount" mmcblk0p2 (i.e. the MyDocs partition), then you perform the check and lastly turn the phone off. When you turn it back on, it will all be OK.
Look it up because it's worth remembering the command terms - there are only two or three and they're quite short. |

root fsck.ext3 /dev/mmcblk0p2 it will ask permission to check as optfs is mounted and you cant unmount it while device is on. Alternative if you can install backupmenu. It can check at boot time. |
Re: Memory problems n900 (Read Only file)
You're right. I didn't notice it :)

Re: Memory problems n900 (Read Only file)
Either use pali recovery console or backup menu root console
gain root access then type fsck.ext3 -f /dev/mmcblk0p2 this will repair all coming errors |
Re: Memory problems n900 (Read Only file)
you say you have many bad sectors, so have you tried scanning for bad sectors on a windows pc? (scan and fix)

Re: Memory problems n900 (Read Only file)
Use of the search function would have saved you a lot of time. You need rootsh installed for these commands to work
Code:
sudo gainroot |
Re: Memory problems n900 (Read Only file)
~ $ sudo gainroot

Re: Memory problems n900 (Read Only file)
copy all of them you want to save into MicroSD or ftp/sftp server,
flash your N900,then restore them. This is the best way to solve them exactly. I hate fsck commands only that waste time and damages N900 partition. |
