[MeeGo] What are your TOP 2 Missing Apps?

I don't use many apps, even when I had an Android, but I do find that even the bare min apps are missing on my N9. I created my transportation/movie apps to fill the void but still my N9 needs more apps.

Here are my top two apps that would help fill my app void:
  1. Yelp
  2. Google Voice Search

What are your TOP 2 Missing Apps?

[Edit] I actually menat google voice search

Believe it or not, the N9 still hasn't achieved one of the easiest apps of all -- correct me if one has appeared.

It doesn't have an app that allows you to make flashcards. The N900 has about five of them.

When I mentioned this six months or so ago, I was told that it was still early for the N9. How's that Flashcard app development going, developers?

I also have't seen a decent text to speech app yet. Android has some that are very impressive, such as Dragon Go. I use one that comes with beta Swype all the time. I think I could actually write a novel with it. If I could write a novel.

That's two.

TeamViewer, but since I sold my N9 (that I got instead of my N900 from Nokia) it's irrelevant...

Re: What are your TOP 2 Missing Apps?

Like I mentioned in your Next BART thread, a local transportation app :D
Hopefully, StefK's efforts cover this...

Secondly, I would want a proper Mail client with proper push-mail support not like fenix on the n9...

Re: What are your TOP 2 Missing Apps?

Ahh for google voice you can use it through sip calling in the N9. GV is directly integrated into the contacts and the phone application.
http://everythingn9.com/how-to-set-u...-the-nokia-n9/

But the apps I would LOVE to be on the N9 is:
1. An app that you could copy text written on paper through the camera.
2. If its possible to make an application like bluestacks and Youwave for the computer which runs android application within the computer itself as a program, would it be possible to create an application like this for the N9/n900?

Re: What are your TOP 2 Missing Apps?

The slide out hardware keyboard app, I know the N900 had it.

1) A music detection app like Shazam (preferably integrated with search app like Bing on WP)
2) Flipboard

You mean like this?

I haven't tried it myself, but you might want to give it a go if OCR is what you're after.

I looked for a Singapore's transit API but I couldn't find one so making an app is going to be difficult.

Yup the APIs can only be obtained from getting permission from the two transport operators...

Currently there is an app in the Store called SGTransit that has got the permissions; I did point the developer to StefK's efforts but he hasn't got into touch yet to merge efforts...

Regarding text-to-speech, rzr recently succeeded in porting Espeak to Harmattan. See the relevant post for more details. :)

Maybe Singapore is supported by the new Google Public Transit routing API ?

Re: What are your TOP 2 Missing Apps?

I couldn't care less for support of Viber/Skype/Facebook/Dropbox/Google. I'm no opponent of closed source software, but I am of closed protocols and systems.

I'd like to see
1. Offline navigation, using OSM vector maps instead of downloading tiles.
2. Better office viewer. The built-in Caligra seems kinda old, crashing often on OOXML. However, I'm pleased with the ODF-support, but that also might receive an update. I have LibreOffice installed, but isn't exactly useful as a viewer on a touchscreen...

Opera is available in the store, for free. Ok, they keyboard kinda sucks and there's no HTML5 audio/video-support, but it does perform great with excellent text reflowing when zooming. If HTML5 video, flash or better input is needed, the stock browser works just fine as a backup imo.
