Whatsapp is not a good application. Developers who created it are doing a great disservice.

Let's see if anyone will make an XMPP/Jingle client for Sailfish (i.e. with video call support). That would be useful.

KhtNotes and KhtSimpleText should works also on SailFish as they works also on Mer/Nemo Mobile.

It's a very nasty service for instant messaging, which proliferates walled gardens instead of using compliant federated XMPP (it uses incompatible modified XMPP). Plus it's utterly insecure and prone to identity theft. How one frustrated slashdot user put it:

It already exists. I think it won't take long time after everything will be released for community to write instructions for installing Sailfish on N9xx.

well, it depends on to whom you ask the question about usefulness, if you ask a developer the answer will be definitely different to a normal device user, won't it?

Well, I have recently released initial modRana RPMs for Nemo and also built the python-qtmobility package for Nemo.

And as Khertans and (most of) THP's applications are also written in Python, there is a really good chance of Python programs being the first useful Jolla/Sailfish apps. :)

the thing is, itll be able to run android apps no? so whatsapp shouldnt really need a port, id rather developers invest time in something that doesnt exist for either

Why code for just Sailfish.
Get the Python and Qt libraries on there an you have most of the useful apps done.

While bash is fixed, it's still an older version. Also, my version seems to not have caused issues for the last updated. But, yesco can take it if wanted, and just keep my version on my development page on merproject.
