Hi,

sifo has created an icon for MeeCoLay. I'd like to gather some feedback about it

Thanks to sifo we'll have a MeeCoLay icon. I'd like to ask the community which concept is better. Note, that it's not the state-of-the-art quality - these are only concepts. /edit: the details might be changed in the final version

The second one with an orange or slightly paler blue squircle and the Qt icon replaced with an app's icon would be better IMO...

I don't think so but you can try to report your post with whatever modifications and see if someone with more privs can do it :)

Concept 1 is better. But I would have replaced red Nokia N9 with black Nokia N950 (photograph by Reggie Suplido).
However, I do not use MeeCoLay...

Well, it's been decided by popular vote that concept 2 is better. Now I'm gathering feedback about the improved concept 2.

i think the icon should be more ''serious''. kinda looks a bit childish now though

Questions I always ask myself when designing icons:

1. Does it scale well, especially when making it (really) small? Are details still visible/recognizable?

2. Does it work well with 1 or 2 colors as a max?

3. Is it easy to differentiate the icon from others / is it easy to recognize what the icon is meant for?

If any of these questions is answered with a "no", I would not consider the job to be done, just yet.
