[Announce] Tesla Model S app

5 Attachment(s)
Latest builds are on openrepos.net:
https://openrepos.net/content/yuvraaj/tesla

Original message:

When companies show no love for anything other than iOS and Android, t.m.o. members fill in the gaps!

With that in mind, here's my first stab at a Tesla app for Model S owners.
Initially targeted towards the N9.
Next porting targets: Sailfish (yay!), BB10 (yay!) and Symbian (really? why?).

Not so easily identifiable feature: Double click on the "Map" selector to get centering and EV charging sources.

Tesla Model S users have an app on iOS/Android that allows them to monitor their car's balance power; the time to charge required, the range their car has, the location of nearest power stations for recharging etc

With this app those who have Tesla Model S' can do the same with their N9s :)

No particular reason. Does anyone with an n900 want me to port this app to maemo?

I've finally started working on the Tesla app for Sailfish.
Anyone interested?

I am! :)

By the way, do you have a Tesla yourself?

Yes :)

Unfortunately there are no charging stations near me, so I am left with two Teslas standing in the garage. This is of no use to me :(

Can I borrow one for a while? You can use one of my Picasso's in exchange.

First version (extremely rough cut) is up on openrepos.net

The map page is still pretty flaky.

Re: [Announce] Tesla Model S app

New build: New API and streaming updates!

What that means: When you enable streaming updates, your car position gets updated on the map in real time (just like your own position).

Any chance to get this for upcoming Neo900?

I don't have a Neo900, but if you can point me to the development environment I can try compiling for it.

We have to wait 'till they release the Neo900 =)
Then we can have a look at it. Good to know that you are interested to do that =)
Otherwise i have to buy an android/iphone =(
Thx

Re: [Announce] Tesla Model S app

So Tesla just announced the final configuration for the Model 3. One of the "features" is that it does not use a key fob - instead, it uses the Tesla app on your phone to act as a key (over Bluetooth).
As someone who preordered a Model 3, I'm now kind of worried I'll have to get a cheap Android phone to act as a key...or just give up on Sailfish/Harmattan altogether and get an Android flagship. Is there any possibility of this app working as a key for the Tesla Model 3?

Why not ask them directly? I'm quite sure they have the answer.

And congrats on the pre-purchase.

Really? Thats a ridiculous requirement.
I mean sure, everyone has a smartphone these days, but mandating a Android/iOS phone app is scary: What if my phone is discharged? I can't get into my car to charge it??

The API isn't open, I can try reverse engineering it with someone who has a Model 3.
No one I know has the car delivered to them yet.

Hi.
I read somewhere - sorry, can't remember where - that you can use an RF card instead of the app.

Regards.
