Actually, it came out almost 4 years later. And there are no bigger guns out there, albeit there might be few faster ones :D
And I bet I can take my 2000-ish camera and beat up anything you care to throw at me :)

Just say it's a quad-core 750 Super-KP+ camera with a Cornea sensor and you're all set. The press (or at least Engadget) will love it.

Exactly. It's not the size, it's how you use it! ;)

Seriously, more pixels is not necessarily a good thing. More pixels on the same die size means the pixels are smaller. Which means more susceptible to shot noise and more easily saturated. In other words, you get pictures with more pixels but fuzzier and with with less dynamics. Burnt out bright spots and black shadows. Trust me, I know.

I'm not an expert, but yes, that sounds right. Obviously a *good* 3MP camera with a good (big!) sensor will beat the cr4p out of any smartphone camera.

BUT, Dave999's comment does have a certain truth in it. I bet Keon's 3MP camera (and Peak's 8MP's as well) is pretty much crap.

How does FirefoxOS interact with your contacts list, on-device database or the file system? Or can it even do that?

As far as I understand, it actuall IS android, it's just runnig firefox OS as UI on top of the android layer...

Quick reply...
No, Firefox OS isn't running on top of the Android layer.
There are three major software layers: Gonk, Gecko, and the HTML5 layer, which includes the Gaia user-interface.
Gonk consists of a Linux kernel and userspace hardware abstraction layer (HAL). The kernel and several userspace libraries are common open-source projects: Linux, libusb, BlueZ, etc. Some other parts of the HAL are shared with the Android project: GPS, camera, among others. Gonk is basically an extremely simple Linux distribution - but definitely not Android. No Java, for example.
Best wishes.
