[Announce] coderus unrestricted system-ui
 

Official thread for discussing unrestricted system-ui by coderus and it settings applet.

Unrestricted System UI - modification allowing loading 3rd party extensions for status menu.
Additional features:
- LED events notifications
- Displaying battery percentage instead of icon
- Netspeed applet in status area: displaying network bandwidth speed
- Extra status menu view with two extension areas: fixed and pannable, can display notifications in menu.

Installation:
system-ui
install system-ui with debinstall

Returning original:
system-ui
install system-ui with debinstall

Settings applet:
duicontrolpanel-unrestricted-settings v1.0.3

Install settings only after installing my system-ui. Don't be stupid, not install it if you have different system-ui :)

Its trial period now. If no critical bugs until this week, i'll add update to trusted repository and installer to openrepos. settings to both.

my other 2 errors I fixed after seeing that settings are with an extra installer.

Edit 2:
I don't see my status extensions like qml-brightness or widgets

Edit 3:
Fixed errors above by hand. Enabled widgets in settings, everything fixed now :)

All went well but i have the same blue line at the top.

jpel, you can disable the blue line when you have settings. It shows battery percentage with that line.

Im having similar troubles installing duicontrolpanel...

15 minutes left - still no "Safe mode" after some changes in the settings. Seems good.

What about incrementing the version so that it's seen as an update? If it'll be fully compatible with the stock sysui, than it could be easier like that. Same with aegis-install

well, seems installer not loading extra provides for settings support, just use debinstall method, i'll check it.

@Ancelad settings now reloading menu without restarting process :)

@mousse04 you installed 1.0.1 version of settings?

Debinstall automatically starts for me, because I decided that, when I click on a deb file. In my post I didn't write that I clicked on the trusted switch too (not trusted installation).

There is any difference between Standart menu and Modern menu.
If Modern is active and make changes to settings, nothing happends.
But if Modern is active and i make changes to Standart menu, those changes will take effect.
Tried restart, refresh and reboot...

PS: widgets and tools are installed from trusted...

I tried to install the control panel but installer can't find the dependencies... Am i missing something? I have already installed unrestricted system ui and applets some days ago...

@Lucazz990 i already have Ford but can't install Ferrari rear door into my Ford. Did i miss something? Both are cars and have 4 wheels :D

Removed installers from installations methods. Don't be stupid, use debinstall with trusted switch to install system-ui :)

In a previous installation with the installer and then the settings deb the installation went wrong; directly with system-ui deb and then settings deb the installation went well.

Now the duicontrolpanel-ledapplet-l10n-additional_0.0.3-3_all.deb is no longer necessary because the LED setting is included in the duicontrolpanel-unrestricted-settings_1.0.1_armel.deb, right?

In other words is it possible to uninstall your version come with N9QTweak (widgets, tools, percentage, netspeed, led applet, etc.) and install only your new version (system-ui+settings) from first post?

If the second case is true, maybe it's possible to include both deb in N9QTweak instead of the first ones, for your Unrestricted System UI.

OK I see.

So does this new unrestricted system-ui include all these nice little buttons for Bluetooth, torch, 3g/2g, etc? Maybe a screenshot of full extensions included/?
