Happy Birthday N9!

Today - 2 years ago - our beloved N9 was released!

Some facts:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_N9

I still use my N9 as my only device and I love it.

Same here! Using N9 as an everyday device and waiting for Jolla :)

Greendts 2013-09-29 10:27

Me too, I feel stupid when I have to use buttons rather than Swyping, brilliant creation deserves more respect in my eyes. Happy birthday

I agree with all these posts. Still the best phone UI to me even after 2 years, and I've tried all the big ones.

I have an iPhone 5 and a N9. I use the N9 as my daily phone. iPhone 5 to pay my bills. 'Nuff said!

I've been using my beautiful N9 for over a year and half now, and love it more everyday! It can't be beat by any of the phones on the market today... I have a Nokia 808 as well, and use it primarily for my photography :) Long live N9!!!

I love my N9, mine won't be 2 until January, but still is my daily phone. I also still have and use an E52 when I need something that will last the week on a single charge.

Had many N9s, gave them away. Not worth all the trouble. The dumbest phone I ever had.

Don't bother about Lumiaman, it's a boy that like to play a troll.

Re: Happy Birthday N9!

Great to still have and use daily a Nokia N9! Happy to be outside of the "I have to download and then to complain about iOS7" community. Big thanks to all the people who sacrificed their freetime to contribute applications and hacks to MeeGo Harmattan - which have kept this phone alive & up to date, even without Nokia.

@mcbook: Lumiaman could be Elop... Nobody knows. But he masters the art of trolling perfectly, benefits from mentions like this one and can be a quiet fun addition to this forum. Just don't believe anything he tells - has been wrong with pretty much everything so far.

Happy birthday! Bought my N9 a year and a half ago, use it happily ever since. People looking at the one-handed gestures are often impressed. So I'm waiting for Jolla to send out the pre-ordered devices!

Although after purchasing the N9 I stuck to my N900 for geocaching for quite some time, but that's all in the past now. Does anyone need a N900? ;)

trolling is ok,

but words like these are very bad taste, and tell so much about people they use them.

Ah, you mean a child with special abilities - which btw winphone will never have? ;)

I think you must be right there, Lumiaman must be Elop! he had spent to much time trolling on TMO instead of save his marriage with his wife. Thats why he need 25 millions now... OR it also could be his son.

Re: Happy Birthday N9!

HBD N9!!!

I got two of them and had my first one on the day it was released. I have used all the major OS's and phone brands and still nothing comes close to N9. Yes, not even N900 when considering everyday usage with swipe.

Nowaday I am stuck with Lumia because of my employers rules, but on every weekend and longer holiday I am always back to my N9. And when I turn it on I can't but wonder how people at Nokia and Micro$oft could be so stupid that they honestly believed that Windows OS could take off with what it is today. Just unbelievable blindsight and stupidity to think that customer markets would ever want something as childish. Windows OS is still years from making any impact.

2 years, huh? It doesn't feel like it. N9 still looks and works amazing when compared to todays smartphones.

Re: Happy Birthday N9!

Happy Birthday N9 :D

I have 2 of the devices in family, had the first one for my wife since the very beginning and my own for about 1.5 years now.
Wonderful things, still, a joy to use and excelling anything else I know (at least for now, that is)

BTW, just yesterday I watched a documentary about left/right handedness, and then I realised in retrospect that I actually can (and frequently do) use my N9 with either of my hands with equal dexterity.
Have not really tried this with other devices, but at least with N9 it's easy :D

Re: Happy Birthday N9!

Used my N9 for 9 months, doubt I ever use another phone as good, the seamless switch from task to task without effort at all. Wish this could of been a lot more.

I really believe this phones will be the architect for future phones, the no buttons and everything.

Switching to the 5s this week because its time and I feel like time has passed the N9 by, but I will miss it dearly.

Loved mine, still use it as my international phone (for the most part) and besides my issues w/ Bluetooth, best phone I've ever had.

Re: Happy Birthday N9!

Same from me, have the first one since 20 month and the second from my wife now also 18 month.
Is highly ajustable and have this great community. Looking for yesterday presented batterylifetime of the new Jolla mayby my N9 will still stay as my mayor phone and the Jolla will replace (hopefully) my Backup beloved E71.
The E71 for me was the best Symbian Phone. On the N9 i missed Encryption, VPN and best Sip integration. May with more support from Nokia the PR1.4 had bringed to the N9 but it was never released.
Looking for birthday of his son.

Re: Happy Birthday N9!

Mine is just two weeks now. Although I was not sure for months the news of MS buying Nokia reassured me.
I sadly think this is the last well-made european mobile phone for many years to come, since Jolla no doubt will be focused in the chinese market.

Happy birthday!!
Regards.
