Finally, a new theme.
ste-phan explains the theme to us:


Wastelands. I think this should read as good land gone to waste?
Abandoned or grim looking industrial areas, power plants, impoverished residential areas once told to be the promised land,
at present a dream gone to waste. New or old projects. Giant industrial or urban project truly overdone, invasive and apocalyptic.
Waste dumps.
The idea is to point the lens towards the ugliness and show the price of western style civilization.
(I suppose smart phone users to have a taste of that)


Rules:
Photos must be taken during this month.
Photos must be taken by the posting member.
Photos must be taken with a camera phone.
Users can change the entry only once.
Users should add a link to the original photo with full EXIF data.
(very important, name the phone!!)
Last three days of this month are for voting, watch the time.
Go outside and go somewhere distant, dark, nostalgic, dangerous, bring your firearm possibly. :D

It would be nice to get this thread stickied so more people would get to patricipate!
I don't know el general moderators on here and I don't want to PM every one of them so please, help.
T the end of the month someone would have to un-sticky this thread and when new one is made, sticky that one et cetera et cetera... :)

The wording of the "Report Post" button may be misleading for some but it simply means to bring to moderators attention the post/thread for any number of various reasons ranging from renaming, editing, requests to reporting for spam etc.

Also till you don't click submit, the report isn't sent ;)

Hmm, most of those tips would have been more appropriate for the last month's theme.
There is one crucial tip missing: how to get to those abandoned buildings in the first place?

Well that is hard to say because every city is different.
For instance, in my city there is an old sanatorium in the mountain and I can get to it without getting in trouble.
I will do more research and maybe provide more help for this.

Here in the UK even the nature is behind fences, let alone derelict buildings :(

Sure, as long as humans wasted the landscape no need to limit to cityscape or suburbs :D

A photo I took on today's trip. I was heading to demolished mine, soon (this month) to be blown up, but I stopped halfway to visit some abandoned warehouses.

Here's a wasteland for you. Might even be considered "urban" since we live in a (small) town :)

Picture taken with my N900 on Friday 1 November 2013. It was the last day of the half term school break, with Mrs pichlo staying at home with the kids. I came home from work and found the living room in this condition and... nobody home. The first thing I started looking for was a ransom note, but it turned out that the family had just gone out for a walk, aparently to escape this :)

I vote for #1 , perfect wasteland with abandoned bicycle and barely anything left in the factory.
